Line 28 in Step 2 should be 
SnapShot_in_defaultfolder = N'true', @compress_snapshot = N'false',
Line 32 in Step 2 should be 
immediate_sync = N'true',

It would be great to have some information on how to clear out failed jobs; ie: cleanup sql scripts when things don't go right.

After creating the Distribution database in Step #1, you should follow the instructions at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/replication/security/replication-security-best-practices?view=sql-server-ver16#improve-security-posture-with-database-master-key to configure the Distribution database master key BEFORE you configure replicatition.
