Regarding feature #1:  My feedback would be to only show the 4 output boxes when the activity is actively selected.  Otherwise hide them.  Adding all 4 boxes adds unnecessary visual noise.  The color of the lines indicate which of the 4 types so it's easy to see how things are flowing.  And if you needed to, click the activity and it will show the four boxes and which one it's tied to.   Hopefully I communicated that well enough.
