We would like to inform you that Azure Data Explorer EngineV2 will reach its end of life on July 15th, 2023. After this date, remaining clusters running this version will be automatically migrated to EngineV3. EngineV3 is fully compatible with EngineV2 and while the migration process involves converting existing data to the new format, it is fully transparent as long as the cluster has sufficient resources to perform the data conversion.
What does this mean for you? If your cluster engine type is EngineV2, we strongly recommend that you open a support ticket to migrate to EngineV3. In addition, please ensure that your cluster is using optimized auto-scale since the migration may require scale out for limited time period, which will be handled automatically and with minimum overhead by optimized auto-scale.
Please note that the latest version of Azure Data Explorer offers significant performance improvements, new features, and enhanced scalability, enabling you to unlock the full potential of your data analytics and exploration workflows.
