Distillation: Turning Smaller Models into High-Performance, Cost-Effective Solutions

Distillation is becoming hotter these days even though it existed many years before. Look forward that:

1. Provide 'powerful' LLMs like GPT4-o1 and DeepSeek, which have 'CoT' capability, as teacher models to distill SLMs like Phi, Llama, etc.
2. How about trying to distill some VL models, for example, Llava, Phi with vision, Llama with vision, etc?

Lots of opportunities for private LLM/SLM implementations and data protection/privacy reasoning to deploy customized models on Cloud AI platforms like Azure AI. 😃
