Steps to install and setup PgBouncer connection pooling proxy with Azure DB for PostgreSQL
Can someone share a reference of how to utilize auth_query when dynamically fetching username and password in pgbouncer.ini:
auth_query = SELECT uname, phash from user_lookup($1)
We have tried utilizing this approach with pgbouncer sidecar implementation on AKS:

However, it would appear that auth_query is not supported, as the initial connection passes (with pgbouncer user for userlist.txt), but subsequent connection from connection details fetched via user_lookup function fails (fatal password authentication failed).
