MicrosoftMicrosoftHello, I am excited that the oracle_fdw is finally available, it opens up the changes of migrating Oracle databases to PostgreSQL on Azure in a broader sense. However, I don't understand why version 1.2 of 2015 is the supported extension version, almost 10 years old! We are at version 2.7 at the moment. I’ll hope this is just a typo, otherwise we can better remove it because it will give a lot of bugs using it.
MicrosoftHi mangenent, thanks for the feedback. Actually the \dx command in psql shows 1.2 for oracle_fdw version, however actual extension version is 2.7.0, which is the latest version available now. Oracle_fdw extension version can be queried using the following psql command:
select oracle_diag();So, we already have the latest version. Sorry for the confusion, but that is how oracle_fdw extension is designed.

Maybe it is an idea to add a column on the website https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/postgresql/extensions/concepts-extensions-versions where we can mention the actual release which is supported. Other extensions have the same problem when you use /dx, which is indeed confusing. If you don't know this and rely on the information on the website, you can easily decide not to use it or decide to just not use Azure because of the “old” version(s) supported. I am happy that the latest release is supported after all.
