Windows 11 OS has been the most useless upgrade of Microsoft with highest number of bugs. Mid performance laptops like dell 5510,i5 11th gen(nvidia mx450) which in my case also cannot run smoothly on windows 11. I have got a ton of issues on gpu, display and bugs where display rendering issues and blue screen error messages appear. Even the dark mode sucks. Biggest downfall for Microsoft in terms of stability 👎🏻50Views0likes0CommentsNew feature: Control Edge update downloads over metered connection
Microsoft Edge Version 89.0.726.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) Download Updates over metered connections Automatically download updates over metered networks (for example, cellular network) and apply them on browser restart. Charges may apply. I'm sure for organizations there will be a new group policy to control this.2.6KViews3likes1CommentWhich update impact might Edge Enterprise have if running a non updated 'MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe'?
Hello, could anyone please be so kind to tell me something about which update impact might Edge Enterprise (Stable) have if on my OS there's still running a non updated version of 'MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe'? Here are more details about what I verified. When I installed Edge Enterprise it was v92.0.902.73 (Stable) and I found that almost immediately after initial downloading of 'MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe' v1.3.147.37 it downloaded latest v1.3.151.27 and removed contents of 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\1.3.147.37'. So far all might seems to be fine, but after checking that 'MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe' also configured own 2 instances with Schedule service, I verified the running instance(s) (because sometimes there are 2 executing) are still the older v1.3.147.37 one(s) (and yes, if wondering about it it's 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe'). Now so far my Edge Enterprise (Stable) has reached v93.0.961.38 (Official build) (64-bit) anyway but since yesterday afternoon v93.0.961.44 was self downloaded and already installed where appropriate (well that's according to C:\Windows\Temp\msedge_installer.log contents) but even if I completely close all v93.0.961.38 windows there are 2 msedge.exe instances that remain still running. OK, I know this might probably depend from 'Startup boost' but I left it disabled since the beginning and a part having 'Use hardware acceleration when available' still enabled since the beginning the only other setting I only temporarily enabled was 'Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed' (but I've left disabled since after I verified it was creating dumps whenever my laptop OS was being suspended into memory as I also reported in another report I sent yesterday but still under review). I'm wondering if a possible side effect of wrong 'MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe' version might even be that whenever I check Edge version, the rolling icon near 'Checking for updates' never stops (and so far only with 1st self update from v92.0.902.73 to v92.0.902.84 I saw a proper notification that an Edge update already took place and I simply had to restart it to run updated version), So does anyone have comments to let me know if what I reported here and unexpectedly delayed version update in particular, is indeed normal and expected (any more ideas or suggestions to definitely fix/avoid the rest I reported are very welcome too 😉 ). P.S. This time I'm also avoiding animated emoji since their size in discussions preview indeed seem to be bigger and maybe disturbing more then I've ever expected... :-S Best Regards RobSolved4.3KViews0likes9CommentsA Few Things That Have Been Bugging Me
There are a couple, or so, things that I would like to see changed or added. I would like to be able to go into settings and set a switch that would halt all video loading, or playing unless I click on PLAY. I dislike anything that slows load times and displaying of a Webpage. Also tied to load and display times is my complaint about how advertisements are handled; why can't there be a way preadjust the size and placements of advertisements on a page so that pages just load, and display and not have to readjust on the fly as different advertisements are loaded, making the screen jump around; I detest that distraction. If this is the wrong place to post this, I apologize, please tell where I should post.2.2KViews0likes8CommentsRelease Edge canary updates for all platform synchronously
I'm on Windows 10 insider using Edge canary, updated Edge 1 hour ago to Version 82.0.449.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I also have Mac OS 10.15.3 on VMware workstation 15.6 as a virtual machine, for testing. I have Edge canary on it too but the latest version on it is still Version 82.0.446.0 (Official build) Canary (64-bit) I keep checking for updates but still nothing. please close this gap and release Edge canary updates for all platforms simultaneously and synchronously. thanks757Views0likes0CommentsWe received 2 Canary updates in the same day!
I don't recall it happened before, ever. earlier today/yesterday (since we're close to midnight), we received Canary update Version 81.0.411.0 after few hours, I accidentally went to the Edge about page and saw a new update was available again! Version 81.0.413.0 (Official build) surprisingly, each of the two updates brought new features with themselves. 1, 2, 3 I hope this happens more often!1KViews0likes2CommentsWhy Edge Canary isn't updated Daily/Nightly?
For years, I've used Chrome Canary and Firefox Nightly, they both receive at least one update every day/night (every 24 hours at least). sometimes 2 times in 1 day. Chromium source receives multiple updates every day, it's hourly updated. But I'm not talking about Chromium, I want to know why Microsoft Edge can't receive updates daily/night/every 24 hours, just like Firefox and Google? currently, Canary channel receives updates roughly every 2-3 days, in weekends there is no updates either. I've been on Edge canary channel since launch, it's been always like this. I thought after the stable channel is released, this would change, but nope, it's still the same. on the front page: https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download/ it's written that Canary channel is updated "daily" but in reality it's not happening.Solved3.6KViews0likes8Comments
