Edge Password Manager Suggests Saved Passwords Across Different Subdomains
Description: Microsoft Edge suggests saved credentials from a.example.com when I focus a password field on b.example.com. These are separate websites with different authentication systems. I expect saved credentials to be matched against the exact hostname by default, rather than being suggested across sibling subdomains. Expected behavior: Credentials saved for a.example.com should not be suggested on b.example.com by default. Users should be able to configure strict hostname matching while retaining password autofill for each site. Feature request: Please provide an option to disable cross-subdomain credential suggestions in Microsoft Edge Password Manager.
Password Manager parser bug
There is a visual rendering bug where the native Microsoft Edge password manager leaks raw internal debugging annotations (pm_parser_annotation: new_password_element, rendererid) into a visible white box overlaying password forms. The box disappears only when 'Autofill passwords' is turned off completely.2 suggestions for Edge password manager
1. Add notes for each saved password. I use this feature in LastPass and it helps keep the details related to site logins in the same place with the passwords. details such as: recovery codes, 2FA recover codes, registered phone number, answer to security questions etc you see, all these details are important for logging into that website and help us keep our access to our online accounts. 2. show the Favicon of websites in Edge password manager to help identify websites faster in password list. I've sent these through Edge feedback button as well, if you agree with suggestions above you can do the sameFeature Request, Let us use one set of User/Pass for multiple Related domains in Edge password mgr
This is a useful feature that LastPass has. this would prevent from creating multiple duplicate entries in Edge password manager and also manage logins more efficiently. in LastPass it's called Equivalent domains, the description says: "Add domains that use the same login service. We've already listed popular sites that use shared credentials across domains under their control. For example: amazon.com and its local variations, or gmail.com and other google products." it's pretty clear, instead of saving 2 password entries for Facebook.com and Messenger.com , we use the same set of username and password for both websites. this also makes it easy when user changes password for one website, because the other one will be updated automatically. here are more real and important examples: a bit hard to share it through Edge feedback and also keep the proper formatting but i'll try.
