Note: My Edge Dev version is Version 113.0.1741.1 (Official build) dev (64-bit) and OS is Zorin OS 16 core. Thankyou.
New Features for Collections
Collections are such an amazing feature. I hope you guys will make it complete by adding some features that are really needed for using collections on a daily basis. Some things I believe would help to achieve it's full potential: - Add a website to a collection through it's url (without having to open it and then add current page) - Add groups of tabs to collections - Add window to collection - Move tabs between collections - Search all collections, search in collection - Sub-collections for better organization - Export collections to bookmarks - UI option to change view type inside of collections (make them smaller, show only website icon instead of huge thumbnail) It would be amazing if basically the same features we have for tabs and bookmarks (group, transfer between groups, save window to group, etc) could be in collections. The potential for session management is amazing: sort and manage current sessions, save groups and tabs for later, archive for future reference, restore previous session (all tabs of a similar category), bookmark for easy use. Sessions could eventually be merged with bookmarks given enough development. The workflow would be amazing. There are a lot of other posts talking about features for collections, I'll link some here: Collections Feature Request: Adding Multiple Tabs To Existing Collection - Microsoft Community Hub Edge Collections Feature - Signs of Decline vs. Untapped Potential - Microsoft Community Hub Thanks so much and great work! This will make using edge so amazing.
Microsoft Edge Dev crashes on a regular basis unless I'm running it from the Linux terminal
(Reposted from Microsoft Answers Community: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftedge/forum/msedge_crash-msedge_prevwin/microsoft-edge-dev-crashes-on-a-regular-basis/6f26ec72-32e0-4323-a294-0dcad6260a07) This started happening yesterday, and even after downgrading 2 versions back, then upgrading again, the issue won't go away. Here's what's going on: When I start Microsoft Edge Dev normally, through a shortcut on Linux, the browser opens fine, and will usually crash ~10 minutes later, or sometimes a few minutes later. But, when I start it from the terminal, it runs pretty fine, with very few crashes. Hello Insider Community, We are constantly working on improving the Microsoft Edge Add-ons user experience. We are thrilled to announce new improvements to the Microsoft Edge Add-ons website that makes it easier for users to discover new extensions. Collections* & Categories now show the user region’s trending extensions as “Top Edge Add-ons” User Feedback #1: Categories in Edge Add-ons are useful to find extensions for specific jobs to be done. But these categories are not locale-specific, and the order of curated extensions are generic. New Feature #1: Users will now be able to see a geo-specific order of listing within each Edge Add-ons category. The ordering within each extension category will now be powered by our AI recommendation engine to display popular and relevant extensions for each locale / country / geo. For example, here is the how the “Developer Tools” Edge Add-ons category shows up in different locales: China India USA Category: Developer Tools User Feedback #2: Collections on the Edge Add-ons site are helpful to find a curated list of extensions for a specific task, but the order of the extensions displayed in collections is not geo-specific. New Feature #2: We improved our algorithm to show more relevant extensions to our users for a specific region on certain Edge Add-ons collections*. Now, users will be able to see the top extensions within certain collections, based on their popularity in the respective locale / country / geo. For example, here is the how the “Have fun with Microsoft Edge” and “Go window shopping” Edge Add-ons collections show up in different locales: China India USA Collections: Have fun with Microsoft Edge & Go window shopping *This feature update is available only for the following collections on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons homepage - Trending, Have fun with Microsoft Edge, Go window shopping, Connect with friends, Stay informed, Picture perfect, Accessibility tools, Maximize your productivity and More add-ons. Auto-complete search suggestions on Edge Add-ons website User Feedback #3: The suggestions appearing under the search box while entering the keywords on Edge Add-ons site does not populate the region’s trending search keywords as suggestions. New Feature #3: The suggestions under the search box of the Edge Add-ons website while entering the keywords to find an add-on is now automated. It considers the trending search keywords and provides users with instant and complete suggestion results based on the user region. Below is the auto complete suggestion for a user in India after entering “I” in the search box of store. For example, here is how the auto-complete suggestion populates trending searches after entering “i” in different locales: China(with locale as English) India USA Search-box auto-complete suggestions These feature updates will make it simpler for our users to find popular add-ons for their region and get started with enhancing their Edge browser experience further. Do let us know what you think of these improvements by leaving a comment below. We would love to hear about your experience, suggestions, and feedback. Cheers!
浏览器获取的时区错误 / Get wrong time zone
我的浏览器获取的时区不正确，计算机时区始终保持为GMT+8，但通过控制台可见浏览器获取到的时区为GMT-8。 如何才能修复这个问题？ My Edge dev get wrong time zone. My PC set time zone to GMT+8 (before browser install into my PC), but browser get GMT-8. How to fix this? Microsoft Edge Dev 89.0.723.0 Windows 10 1909 build 18363.1256
Extension loads late in Edge
I noticed in my Edge browser (ver. 87.0.664.75) that upon browser startup, the extensions loads late. But when I update my browser to version 88.0.705.50, it works fine and the extensions runs on startup. I would like to know what may caused this bug and what upgrade/fixes are made on the latest version that may have caused the fix on this bug? Thanks for answering! Finally Edge Chromium for Xbox One?
As per reports Microsoft's Edge Legacy browser is going away by 2021 and will be replaced with Chromium based browser, I would like to get an update on Edge Chromium for Xbox One. Since their Browsers in Microsoft's ecosystem will be replaced with Chromium based browser, what about Edge for Xbox One? Or is it impossible for the Microsoft team to port it into UWP or don't want to give heeds? People have been requesting this from long time in Xboxinsider Reddit forum and here but no luck with straight answers!nuEdge Profile Sign In - "We can't sign you in at the moment" "Error code: 5, 2, 0"
This is a duplicate of my answers post here. Hello fellow nuEdgers, I'm hoping someone is able to help. New Edge Chromium Won't Even Try To Sync When Edge Chromium (Dev) has open, I click the 'Profile' symbol, and then click 'Sign In' I am immediately presented with the error: We can't sign you in at the moment The Microsoft Edge team has been notified of this issue. Please try again later. Error code: 5, 2, 0 Microsoft Privacy Statement [[OK Button]] Neither Startpage or Google find anything on purely that error code alone (I think Startpage is a layer on Google). Standard build of Edge ( on the first start sign in run through ) gives the same error but with the code: Error code: 0 I am assuming that when there are commas this then means that these are separate errors that are all occurring. I have looked at this potential fix, which I don't think is directly related: Cannot sign-in to Edge with Microsoft Account However there's no description of what this change does to my system, so I'd like to know what that would be ( especially as it's got Admin related stuff in it ) before going on with the fix. I suspect that this is just something with the latest couple of DEV versions ( I've updated edge). Other stuff that I've tried ( all nuEdge installs are the new Chromium based Edge 😞 Second PC, same issue Fresh Windows 10 install Fresh Edge install Version 83.0.478.58 (Official build) (64-bit) Fresh Edge DEV install Version 85.0.552.1 (Official build) dev (64-bit) Different ISP (potential DNS blocking?) Flushed the DNS. ... more will be edited in if I remember / try them If someone is considering responding with base questions ( equivalent to "turn it off and turn it on again" ) can we please assume that I've done the basics here. I will now list any other occurrences of this incident that I find whilst searching for work around the incident myself: "Edge Sync Sign in" - Microsoft Edge Insider (Microsoft Tech Community) more to come I am using language like "incident", "work around", and "fix", in line with ITIL methodology. Best Eliot PS - I hope and pray that Microsoft are working super hard to reverse the choice to paywall syncing to only the expensive 365 accounts (docs) which bizarrely works in Android ;-). However that's not the issue here (but we should have that on all 365 Business licences, as well as free), it's that as soon as you click the 'Sign In' this error occurs. For reference in case post gets lost: Labels: Sign-in, Sign-in Issue, Profiles, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Edge Dev, Sync, Sync Issue, Sync error, Tags: sign-in, sign in, profile, sync, syncing, sync error, Title: nuEdge Profile Sign In - "We can't sign you in at the moment" "Error code: 5, 2, 0"Suggestion to make a custom link for the updated Dev Channel Post
I would like to suggest that there should also be a custom link made for the Updated dev channel update post similar to the top feedback summary post which has a custom link - https://aka.ms/MSEdgeTopFeedback This would make things a lot easier to go to the updated post directly through the address bar and will also make it easy where the Updated Dev Channel Update link is to be attested in different conversations for reference to the latest Dev Channel Update post.
