Groups - to hide or not to hide.... that is the question!
I created a Group in Outlook. The email address appears in Outlook GAL and the group name appears in Outlook navigation under Groups. I created a group in Teams while creating the Team. The email address appears in Outlook GAL and the group name appears in Outlook navigation under Groups. It was my understanding that Groups created through the process of creating a Team would not appear in Outlook. Help me understand why it is appearing. If I run the PowerShell to hide the email address and group name in Outlook, then I am not able to see the group calendar that gets created because as we know, my Outlook calendar will display by default and to only view the group's calendar, I have to un-tick my calendar and tick the group's calendar. But, since the group is hidden, I don't have an option to make it visible in Outlook. It was my hope that only MEMBERS/OWNERS of a group could see the email address in Outlook GAL and group calendar, but I guess that isn't true? Either I am doing something wrong or there is a lack of vision in how this process should work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Outlook error with Office365 group with macros disabled
Hi All, As part of security hardening, we have disabled macros in MS Office for all bar a few users. The problem we have is that Office365 groups that users have in outlook when they click on the group in outlook they get an error message "The function you are attempting to run contains macros or content that requires macro language support........." After the user clicks ok they can see message int he group no issues but we would like to get rid of that error message. I'm not sure what "Macro" is trying to be performed. Any ideas?
Unable to add group as favorite in Outlook PWA
We have a (Teams) group called 'Development' with a group email address that is public and used for alerts and such. I've discovered that when I go to the Sharepoint page of the group there is a 'conversations' tab that links to the group. I use the Outlook PWA so it takes me to a new browser tab: This view is very useful because I can see all the group mail in one place instead of my main inbox. So I star this group and it'll shows up in my favorites. Note that this URL is 'outlook.office365.com' and not 'outlook.office.com', if I go to my installed outlook PWA the favorite is not there and it is not searchable in my groups. If I close and reopen outlook trough office.com the favorite is also gone. If I uninstall the PWA and reinstall the Outlook PWA from the view where the group is added to favorites (the office365.com url) it will also not show and use office.com. The group view only viewable via the Sharepoint Homepage which is unfortunate. Is this a caching, start_url or other issue. Also, it would be great if the actual email address created via the Teams group is not capitalized like the group name.
Receiving Group Emails
Good morning, I just realized that when someone send an email to an O365 Group, the email is only shown in the Groups section on O365 Outlook online. Using the desktop app, none of the staff at our organization receive the email. Is there a way to ensure emails to O365 Groups are sent to everyone's inbox? Thanks for any assistance you can give! Convert O356 Group to personal mailbox
Im trying to convert a O365 group to a personal mailbox. I'll do it manually, because I know that there is no way to do this in Exchange Center. My O365 group is client1@mydomain.com. I already created a personal mailbox named client1-mail@mydomain.com So this is my plan: Migrate all the mails from the group to the personal mailbox Change group mailbox alias to client1-old@mydomain.com Change personal mailbox alias to client1@mydomain.com Do you think this is possible? is the best approach? and finally, is there a way to send all the O365 old mails to the personal mailbox?
