This month’s newsletter brings together the latest updates, insights, and best practices to help you use Viva Glint & Pulse as part of your broader AI transformation strategy. As Copilot adoption grows, employee listening can help organizations better understand employee experiences, identify opportunities for support, and turn feedback into action that drives meaningful business impact. *Side note: Have you configured your Viva Glint blog notifications to send you an email when a new newsletter or blog is posted but you haven’t been receiving them? You may need to add notifications@communityhub.microsoft.com to your approved email sender domain list to ensure that you get the email notifications. We’ve also added this information here. New on your Viva Glint platform This section highlights new capabilities and updates now available to help you strengthen security, reporting, and administrative control in Viva Glint. Benchmark Refresh: Industry benchmark suites. This month, the industry benchmarks have been updated in alignment with the annual refresh cycle. As part of this update: Coverage has been refined, with Media added and Retail – Wholesale Distribution removed due to insufficient data. The one-year data collection suites are labeled “Industry 2025 (Calendar Year)” and include data collected from January 1 to December 31, 2025. To broaden benchmark coverage, a two-year data collection period (i.e., January 2024 - December 2025) was used to introduce Automotive and Nonprofit and to refresh Pharmaceuticals benchmarks. These benchmarks are labeled "Industry 2024 - 2025" on Viva Glint. To access external benchmark comparisons in reporting, customers must opt in to benchmarking. Opting in increases the overall benchmark data pool, improves data coverage, and supports a broader set of benchmark suites. Customers who have not opted in won’t be able to view or include external benchmarks in their reports. Survey Configuration: Custom confidentiality statements. Viva Glint admins now have the option to use Viva Glint’s default confidentiality statement in their survey programs, or they can opt to turn off the default Viva Glint confidentiality statement and define their own organization‑specific confidentiality messaging. This enables clearer, context-appropriate communication to survey participants while maintaining Viva Glint’s core confidentiality protections and trust standards. The update helps organizations meet legal, compliance, and cultural requirements without compromising employee trust. Learn more here and here. Reporting: Topic Assignments Included in Comment Report Export. When exporting comments from the Comments report to a spreadsheet, Viva Glint now includes the topic(s) assigned to each comment. This enhancement allows analysts to seamlessly extend their analysis into external tools with Viva Glint’s topics already applied. Coming soon to Viva Glint The following section offers an early look at capabilities coming to Viva Glint shaping the future of continuous listening, analytics, and AI‑powered insight. Please note that public documentation (e.g., MS Learn articles) is not typically published until a feature is generally available. Seamless Entra authentication for MTO organizations | Generally available starting mid June. Seamless Domain Discovery (SDD) will simplify the sign-in experience for multitenant organizations and support users by introducing automatic tenant discovery. This new Entra‑based experience reduces reliance on MTO policies, lowers admin overhead, and aligns Viva Glint access with standard Microsoft 365 sign‑in—delivering a more scalable and seamless authentication experience. For scenarios where users need to explicitly access a different tenant (for example, guest or support access) or they have access to more than a one Viva Glint instance with their credentials, domain selection remains available to ensure flexibility and control. This feature will start rolling out to MTO customers in mid June with the rollout expected to be complete by the end of June. Custom data retention policy | Generally available starting late June. Viva Glint admins will be able to set how long survey data is retained before deletion to help meet organizational and compliance needs. This policy will apply across Viva Glint survey data, including engagement, ad hoc, recurring, always-on, and 360 surveys, as well as focus areas and goals. Customers with an existing retention policy will see their current settings carried over automatically. Improved audit activity logs for user data import | Generally available starting late June. Viva Glint audit activity logs will soon provide enhanced visibility into successful data imports with a downloadable processed file details report. With this feature, admins can quickly review processed, updated, or partially ingested records for SFTP and MODIS user data imports. “Select All” toggle for report filters | General availability coming soon. A new “Select All” option in the reporting filter panel will let users select or clear every attribute value in one click. This removes the pain of managing filters with long value lists, speeding up analysis and reducing manual effort. We aim to make this feature generally available in the next couple of months. Copilot Reporting: Dynamic Topics with Copilot | General availability coming soon. By leveraging Copilot, this functionality is designed to enhance the relevance and context of comment themes by extending beyond the current static set of topics and identifying customer-specific topics that can be tracked over time. These custom topics will remain confined to your platform and will not be accessible to Microsoft or other customers. This feature will also improve the accuracy of assignment to topics for both standard and dynamic categorization. We aim to make this feature generally available in the next couple of months. Copilot-supported commenting for Viva Glint survey takers | Private preview ongoing. Soon, Viva Glint survey participants will be able to use an in-survey Copilot experience to polish their written feedback (please note: this capability is not available for respondents accessing surveys via attribute-based login or personalized links). Copilot can rephrase comments so employees can communicate more clearly and with greater confidence. By helping reduce distinctive writing patterns and making it easier to provide thoughtful input, the feature can increase comfort and perceived privacy—driving higher participation, richer responses, and more candid insights that organizations can act on. Continuous Employee Engagement with Workplace Metrics | Private preview ongoing. Improve actionability for Work-Life Balance and Collaboration focus areas by integrating Viva Insights workplace metrics into Viva Glint reporting. This feature will help Senior Leaders in your organization access supplementary data points, in conjunction with survey responses, to better understand their team's experience and conduct more data-driven discussions on what can be improved in these areas. Between survey cycles, leaders can also enable notifications to keep track of changes in their team's workplace patterns, allowing them to keep a better pulse on behavior change commitments. Private Preview is targeted in May 2026. Future capabilities will include the ability to map Viva Insights and Copilot metrics to survey items and bring in additional data sources from M365, such as meeting metadata and content. The session created a space for admins to share candid feedback and directly influence the future direction of Viva Glint 360s, which have seen limited evolution to date. The discussion centered on where the 360 process creates friction for admins, managers, and participants; moments where workflows slow down, break, or require manual workarounds; and small, high-impact improvements that could meaningfully enhance the overall experience. It was a candid, discussion-driven session with the Viva Glint Product team and customer peers sharing what’s working well and where challenges remain. Key takeaways: Aggregate reporting emerged as one of the top customer requests, with many customers emphasizing the need for easier ways to consolidate and analyze 360 feedback data. Customers also exchanged creative workarounds and best practices during the session, showcasing strong peer collaboration within the community. Poll results helped validate the highest-priority enhancement areas, which will help inform future Viva Glint 360 investment planning. Customer Success Stories See how organizations are using Viva Glint, Pulse, and Copilot to turn employee insight into measurable impact. Energy Company Advances from Copilot Adoption to Measured, HR‑Led AI Transformation with Microsoft EVE After scaling Microsoft 365 Copilot across 20,000 employees, Energy company partnered with Microsoft’s Viva Glint team to introduce AI transformation measurement—aligning HR and IT around shared readiness, governance, and priorities for scalable agentic automation. Situation The customer scaled Microsoft 365 Copilot across 20,000 employees, but maturity varied across business units. As the organization shifts toward agentic automation, leaders need consistent, data‑driven measurement of readiness, impact, and transformation maturity to guide aligned enterprise investment. Solution At this critical inflection point, Microsoft's Viva Glint team engaged alongside the Microsoft FastTrack and broader account teams, introducing the Frontier Firm AI Transformation Measurement framework, enabling the customer to establish a common language for AI maturity and shift from qualitative discussions to data‑driven insight. Working closely with Group HR, Employee Experience (EEX), and IT, they leveraged Viva Glint to establish an enterprise‑wide measurement baseline—positioning HR as a strategic co‑driver of AI transformation alongside IT governance. This month’s newsletter brings you the latest updates, insights and learnings to help you turn employee listening into action with Viva Glint & Pulse. As organizations continue to navigate AI-driven change, we’re focused on helping you measure what matters, understand impact, and sustain momentum across your employee experience strategy. Important Note: There is a planned maintenance window taking place in the Viva Glint platform on May 31, 2026, starting at 1:00am Pacific time (PDT) to make updates to the SFTP infrastructure used for file-based integrations. The maintenance window is expected to last approximately 3–4 hours, during which time customers may experience limited access to both Viva Glint surveys and the platform. For more detail on what is changing and to understand what steps your organization may need to take before and after May 31st please read this blog post and visit this recently updated Learn article. New on your Viva Glint platform This section highlights new capabilities and updates now available to help you strengthen security, reporting, and administrative control in Viva Glint. Benchmark Refresh: Country and Region benchmark suites. Country and Region benchmarks have been refreshed as part of the annual benchmark update cycle. These benchmarks are labeled “Country/Region 2025 (Calendar Year)” to reflect that they are based on data collected between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025. As part of this refresh, coverage has been updated—Costa Rica has been added, while Serbia has been removed due to insufficient data coverage—ensuring that all published benchmarks meet minimum data thresholds for reliability. We will be refreshing the Industry benchmark suite in the coming months. To access external benchmark comparisons in reporting, customers must opt in to benchmarking. Opting in increases the overall benchmark data pool, improves data coverage, and supports a broader set of benchmark suites. Customers who have not opted in won’t be able to view or include external benchmarks in their reports. Reporting Integrations: Additional controls for data flow from Insights to Glint. Now when you enable data flow from Insights to Glint, you will have the ability to exclude specific users and groups from having their metrics sent over. The control will be available in the Viva Glint section of Viva Feature Access Management in the M365 Admin Center. This is useful for tenants who operate in regions or parts of the organization where further approvals are needed to use workplace metrics data. You can exclude those users and groups from the feature until you get the approvals needed. More information can be found here. Coming soon to Viva Glint The following section offers an early look at capabilities coming to Glint shaping the future of continuous listening, analytics, and AI‑powered insight. Please note that public documentation (e.g., MS Learn articles) is not typically published until a feature is generally available. Copilot-supported commenting for Viva Glint survey takers | Private preview starting May. *Update: We previously shared that this would be generally available in May; instead, we’ll start with a private preview to allow additional development and testing ahead of broader release later this year. Custom data retention policy | Generally available starting June. Viva Glint admins will be able to configure a data retention policy for their Glint instance, defining how long Glint data is retained before it is deleted in accordance with organizational and compliance requirements. This feature enables admins to align Viva Glint data retention with company policies and compliance standards without relying on manual or backend-only processes. Custom confidentiality statement | Generally available starting June. Viva Glint admins will have the option to use Glint’s default confidentiality statement in their survey programs, or they can opt to turn off the default Glint confidentiality statement and define their own organization‑specific privacy messaging. This enables clearer, context‑appropriate communication to survey participants while maintaining Viva Glint’s core confidentiality protections and trust standards. The update helps organizations meet legal, compliance, and cultural requirements without compromising employee trust. Seamless Entra authorization for MTO organizations | Private preview starting May. This new feature will simplify sign‑in for multi‑tenant organizations by introducing automatic tenant discovery. This new Entra‑based experience reduces reliance on MTO policies, lowers admin overhead, and aligns Viva Glint access with standard Microsoft 365 sign‑in—delivering a more scalable and seamless authentication experience. For scenarios where users need to explicitly access a different tenant (for example, guest or support access), domain selection remains available to ensure flexibility and control. We are aiming to make this generally available to our MTO customers starting in June. Continuous Employee Engagement with Workplace Metrics | Private preview starting May. Improve actionability for Work-Life Balance and Collaboration focus areas by integrating Viva Insights workplace metrics into Glint reporting. Previous sessions: April 23rd - Notifications and Nudges Admin Experience in Viva Glint In this recent EECC session, we discussed how organizations are using survey notifications and Nudges in Microsoft Glint today and explored opportunities to improve the overall experience. The forum brought Viva Glint admins together to validate early ideas, share practical approaches, and provide feedback to help shape future enhancements to notification capabilities. The session covered current notification workflows used in survey programs, insights gathered from existing customer feedback channels, and early concepts for enhancements in the notifications and Nudges space. Participants highlighted gaps in the current admin and program-design experience and offered direct input on where the platform could better meet day-to-day needs. Key takeaways from the discussion included: Consensus of pain points across customer orgs and the need for foundational improvements to the notification configuration process Current Viva Glint prioritization of notification enhancements aligns well with customer expectations/enhancement desires Tangential enhancement opportunities exist that would support more seamless user experience around notifications (e.g., in-platform usage metrics, testing, etc.) If you are not yet a member of the Employee Experience Customer Connection (EECC) but would like to participate in upcoming sessions, as well as gain access to numerous other engaging and valuable Glint and Pulse customer activities, please see the sign-up information below. This month’s newsletter brings you the latest updates, insights, and learnings to help you turn employee listening into action with Viva Glint & Pulse. As organizations continue to navigate AI-driven change, we’re focused on helping you measure what matters, understand impact, and sustain momentum across your employee experience strategy—with practical updates to support you every step of the way. New on your Viva Glint platform This section highlights new capabilities and updates now available to help you strengthen security, reporting, and administrative control in Viva Glint. Copilot reporting: Copilot Highlights. Copilot Highlights, now generally available, generates AI-powered summaries of employee survey results directly within Team Summary and Executive Summary reports, surfacing key insights like strengths, opportunities, score changes, and benchmark comparisons so managers and leaders can move from data to action faster. This release also brings multilingual support, with summaries generated in each user's configured Viva Glint language. Unlike Copilot comment summarization, which requires a higher number of survey respondents, Copilot Highlights works wherever managers already have access to dashboard data, making Copilot in Viva Glint valuable for a broader set of leaders across your organization. The feature is automatically available for anyone with Copilot in Viva Glint turned on. Learn more about the feature here and to get started or expand access to more users, see Manage Viva Glint Copilot access in Microsoft 365 admin center. Copilot reporting: Copilot control migration to Microsoft 365 admin center. On April 30th, the Microsoft 365 Admin Center will become the single point of control for Viva Glint Copilot, consistent with other Microsoft Copilot experiences. As part of this change, the existing admin toggles for Copilot access in Viva Glint will be removed, and Copilot will default to ON at the Viva Glint platform level. Customers can transition to this new control model before April 30th by completing setup in Microsoft 365 admin center using Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM) to configure Copilot access for Viva Glint. For more information, please visit Manage Copilot access in Viva Glint, Manage Viva Glint Copilot access in Microsoft 365 admin center, and Data, privacy, and security for Microsoft 365 Copilot in Viva Glint. Reporting: Direct link to the default report from the dashboard. A new 'Filter in reports' button lets users open the dashboard’s default report view directly, making it faster and easier to navigate and analyze results. Survey: New Copilot measurement items. We’ve added seven new Copilot measurement questions to Viva Glint. Monitor and accelerate your Copilot transformation with the Glint Copilot Impact template now featuring 21 validated survey questions designed to measure and get valuable feedback on how well employees are adapting to and experiencing Copilot value in their work. You have the flexibility to use any number of these Copilot items when, where, and how it makes most sense at important moments in your Copilot journey, whether it’s a standalone Copilot survey, integrated into your Engagement survey, or deployed in Viva Pulse surveys for more targeted insights. Find more information here. Advanced Analytics: Viva Glint R and Python packages. A new R package (vivaglint) and Python package (vivaglint_py), designed to make it easier to work with your Viva Glint raw data export for analysis and visualization, are now available. These packages offer functions for generating full correlation tables, conducting attrition linkage analysis, factor analysis, and more based on your raw survey data exports. Learn more here. Coming soon to Viva Glint The following section offers an early look at capabilities coming to Glint shaping the future of continuous listening, analytics, and AI‑powered insight. Copilot-supported commenting for Viva Glint survey takers | Private preview starts May. Viva Glint survey takers will soon be able to use a streamlined Microsoft Copilot experience directly within surveys to help refine their written feedback (please note: this capability is not available for respondents accessing surveys via attribute-based login or personalized links). Copilot can help rephrase comments, making it easier for employees to express their thoughts clearly and confidently. By reducing identifiable writing patterns and simplifying the process of providing thoughtful feedback, this feature helps foster a greater sense of privacy and ease. This, in turn, can encourage higher participation, more detailed responses, and more candid insights—ultimately helping organizations gain a richer, more actionable understanding from their surveys. Additional controls for data flow from Insights to Glint | Generally Available in May. Starting in May, when you enable data flow from Insights to Glint, you will have the ability to exclude specific users and groups from having their metrics sent over. Continuous Employee Engagement with Workplace Metrics | Preview. Improve actionability for Work-Life Balance and Collaboration focus areas by integrating Viva Insights workplace metrics into Glint reporting. Private Preview is targeted in May 2026. New Thought Leadership Explore the latest research and perspectives from our People Science team on leadership, AI, and the evolving employee experience. Research Drop: Tracking the Rise of Perceived AI Value at Work. AI adoption is rising, but usage alone doesn’t tell us whether work is actually getting better. Our latest research shows that employees’ perceived value of AI has increased over time, with RIVA favorability rising 9 points across three cross‑industry studies, signaling a shift from experimentation to more integrated, value‑generating use. But that value isn’t evenly distributed. Industry, organization size, job level, and function all shape who benefits and how quickly. As employees build fluency and apply AI to more complex work, value tends to compound, but only when organizations create the right conditions. Enabling repeatable, meaningful integration into everyday work is key to continued momentum. Read it here. To support ongoing security and infrastructure improvements, Viva Glint will perform planned maintenance on May 31, 2026 starting at 1:00am Pacific time (PDT). During this window, the platform will be temporarily unavailable. The maintenance window is expected to last approximately 3–4 hours, during which time customers may experience limited access to both Viva Glint surveys and the platform. What’s changing As part of this update, we are simplifying and strengthening SFTP connectivity used for file transfers: Moving to a single SFTP endpoint and IPv4 address per environment Introducing IPv6 support for improved network compatibility and future readiness Updating DNS behavior so that secondary SFTP records (sftp2) become aliases of the primary endpoint These changes are designed to enhance reliability, simplify configuration, and align with modern network standards. What this means for your organization Most customers will not need to take any action. However, if your organization: uses SFTP integrations with Viva Glint, and restricts access using firewall rules or IP allowlists, you may need to update your configuration to ensure uninterrupted connectivity following the release. In particular: If your infrastructure supports IPv6, ensure that the new IPv6 addresses are included in your allowlists, as network traffic may prioritize IPv6 when available. If your configuration currently references multiple IPs per environment, note that this will be consolidated to a single endpoint and IP address moving forward. As a best practice, Viva Glint recommends allowing access at the domain level where possible, rather than relying on specific IP addresses. Next steps To avoid disruption to SFTP integrations, customers must maintain their existing IP allowlist entries until the May 31, 2026 maintenance window is complete. You may add the new IP addresses in advance of the release, but existing IP addresses should not be removed until after the maintenance window has concluded. Removing existing IP addresses too early may result in connectivity issues before the change takes effect, while failing to add the new IP addresses in time may cause disruptions after the update. For the most up to date allowlist guidance, including domains, ports, and connectivity requirements, please refer to: Allowed List Thank you We recognize that maintenance windows can cause disruption and appreciate your understanding as we continue to improve the reliability, security, and performance of Viva Glint.521Views0likes0CommentsNews to Know – Volume 3, Edition 3, March 2026
New on your Viva Glint platform This section highlights new capabilities and updates now available to help you strengthen security, reporting, and administrative control in Viva Glint. User access: Roles and permission enhancements. In our March release, we’re introducing updates that improve security and provide more flexible, least-privilege access for enterprise organizations. Learn more here. New role: Survey Designer The Survey Designer role helps organizations assign access specifically for creating and deploying Viva Glint surveys—without granting broader administrative permissions. This targeted role is useful for programs such as AI transformation, hybrid work, and other change-management employee listening initiatives. New permissions: We’re introducing more granular permissions for Advanced Configuration, Question Library, Service Configuration (settings), Nudges, and Viva integrations. Existing Company Admins will be granted Advanced Configuration access by default. Company Admin is now renamed Viva Glint Service Admin. Assignment of new service admins will be restricted to the Microsoft 365 admin center for tighter governance and streamlined administration. Copilot reporting: Copilot control migration to Microsoft 365 admin center. Starting in March 2026, Viva Glint will use the Microsoft 365 admin center as the single control plane for Copilot access—consistent with other Microsoft Copilot experiences. As part of this change, the existing admin toggles for Copilot access in Viva Glint will be removed, and Copilot will default to ON at the Viva Glint platform level. Customers can transition to this new control model between March and April 2026 after completing setup in Microsoft 365 admin center using Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM) to configure Copilot access for Viva Glint. For more information, please visit: Manage Copilot access in Viva Glint, Manage Viva Glint Copilot access in Microsoft 365 admin center, and Data, privacy, and security for Microsoft 365 Copilot in Viva Glint. Reporting: Privacy safeguard for live response rate reporting. For Live surveys, the Add section side pane in reporting is now limited to response-rate visuals only: Response rate history and Response rate by demographic. All score and results visuals have been removed to reinforce privacy safeguards and ensure response rate reporting remains aligned to intended use by restricting users with access to the response rate report during survey live to view response rate information only. Learn more here. Reporting: Dashboard default tag on Reports landing page. On the Reports screen, report tiles that sit behind a dashboard experience now include a Dashboard default tag—making it easy to see, at a glance, which report is connected to a dashboard. Reporting: Benchmark refresh schedule and opt-in reminder. Global benchmarks, including High‑Performing Global benchmarks (Top 25% and Top 10%), have been refreshed and include data collected from January 2025 through December 2025. Industry, Country, and Region benchmarks are currently scheduled to be refreshed and released in July. To access external benchmark comparisons in reporting, customers must opt in to benchmarking. Opting in increases the overall benchmark data pool, improves data coverage, and supports a broader set of benchmark suites. Customers who have not opted in won’t be able to view or include external benchmarks in their reports. Coming soon to Viva Glint The following section offers an early look at capabilities coming to Viva Glint shaping the future of continuous listening, analytics, and AI‑powered insight. Copilot Highlights | General Availability in April. Copilot Highlights, currently in preview, moves to general availability in April 2026. This feature generates AI-powered summaries of employee survey results directly within Team Summary and Executive Summary reports, surfacing key insights like strengths, opportunities, score changes, and benchmark comparisons so managers and leaders can move from data to action faster. General availability also brings multilingual support, with summaries generated in each user's configured Viva Glint language. To get started or expand access to more users, see Manage Viva Glint Copilot access in Microsoft 365 admin center. Additional controls for data flow from Viva Insights to Viva Glint | GA in May. When you enable data flow from Viva Insights to Viva Glint, you will now have the ability to exclude specific users and groups from having their metrics sent over. Advanced Analysis: vivaglint R package | Interest form. We’re working on vivaglint, a new R package designed to make it easier to work with your Viva Glint raw data export for analysis and visualization. This package will offer functions for generating full correlation tables, conducting attrition linkage analysis, factor analysis, and more. If you’d like early access and a chance to shape what we add next, please complete this interest form so we can follow up with details. Continuous Employee Engagement with Workplace Metrics | Preview. To express your interest, please complete the following: Private Preview: Continuous Employee Engagement with Workplace Metrics. Enhance your employee listening program with The Employee Feedback Agent a dynamic, AI-powered conversation, where employees can share what matters most through natural, chat-like interactions, whether prompted or always-on, enabling real-time feedback and deeper insights into the drivers behind their experiences. By combining Copilot intelligence and People Science principles, the agent streamlines feedback collection and reduces administrative overhead for HR and leaders. New Thought Leadership Explore the latest research and perspectives from our People Science team on leadership, AI, and the evolving employee experience. Research Drop: Evolving Transformational Leadership in the Age of AI. AI is changing how work gets done, but it hasn’t changed what employees need most from their leaders. Our latest research shows that employees who feel supported to integrate agentic AI are 1.8x more likely to use it daily, yet a 28‑point gap separates how supported leaders feel versus how supported employees feel. How leadership behaviors show up in practice can make a big impact: When leaders model thoughtful AI use, personalize support beyond what technology can deliver, and share how AI is shaping their own work, employees show higher meta‑cognition, trust, and realized value. Transformational leadership still works, but in the AI era, it has to evolve. Read it here. Customer Success Stories See how organizations are using Viva Glint, Pulse, and Copilot to turn employee insight into measurable impact. Culture + Viva Glint + AI = A Scalable Model for Growth Ipsen, a global biopharmaceutical company with 5,500 employees, is transforming its culture to fuel an ambitious growth strategy—and using Microsoft Viva Glint, Copilot, and Copilot Studio AI agents to make the shift measurable, actionable, and scalable. Driving a Culture Shift with Measurement at the Core Ipsen launched a Culture Manifesto with 18 behavioral attributes aligned to strategy. These are measured annually through Viva Glint, using a transparent traffic‑light system that cascades results to every manager. This has created clear accountability and reinforced the company’s philosophy that culture is shaped through daily leadership choices. Accelerating Insight with Copilot Copilot is now used to speed the analysis of Viva Glint results—reducing time spent interpreting employee feedback and helping leaders focus on targeted, high‑impact actions. AI Agents Boost Consistency and Reduce Support Workload To further scale productivity, Ipsen introduced Copilot Studio–built AI agents in Microsoft Teams for HR, Legal, Business Ethics, and Finance (Ariba). Employees can ask natural‑language questions and get grounded, source‑linked answers, reducing repetitive requests and smoothing peak workloads. Measurable Results 📈 Engagement scores rose three points above benchmark 🟢 Culture attributes rated “green” increased from 10 to 12 🤖 AI agents are reducing routine support demand and improving consistency 🎯 Ipsen now attracts ~90,000 spontaneous applications per year, reinforcing its position as a talent‑magnet in mid‑pharma Why This Matters Ipsen shows how culture, leadership, and AI‑enabled productivity can work together. By combining Viva Glint’s measurement rigor with Copilot and function‑specific AI agents, Ipsen has created a sustainable, data‑driven model for growth—anchored in empowerment, inclusion, and modern ways of working. Each month, we share practical updates and insights to help you strengthen your employee listening strategy with Viva Glint & Pulse and support you on your AI transformation journey. In this edition, you’ll find the latest product enhancements, thought leadership, and customer learnings—designed to help you stay informed, plan ahead, and continue driving meaningful engagement and change across your organization. New on your Viva Glint platform Survey Communications: Teams Notification Localization. Viva Glint Teams bot notifications are now delivered in each user’s preferred language, improving accessibility, engagement, and the experience for global, non‑English‑speaking audiences. This update aligns Teams bot notifications with existing Viva Glint email and platform localization capabilities. Learn about Viva Glint supported languages here. User Data Management: Audit Activity Log Enhancements. We are improving our audit activity logs to provide richer visibility into automated data imports, making it easier for admins to reconcile data across systems, quickly understand what happened during an import, diagnose issues more efficiently, and act with greater confidence. Starting this month, in addition to failed uploads, admins can now access advisory files for partial ingestions, where only some records from an import were processed successfully. Later this year, for supported automated imports (including SFTP and Organizational Data in Microsoft 365), audit logs will include downloadable details that summarize which records were added, updated, skipped, or moved to inactive status. Learn more about audit activity logs here. Reporting: Custom PPT Template Support. The Export to PowerPoint feature now applies the custom PowerPoint template selected in General settings to the exported PowerPoint file for all reports that support the new export i.e. Team summary report, Executive summary report. How to test Open the Team Summary or Executive Summary report. Select Export & Share > Export report to PPT. Confirm the exported editable PowerPoint includes the custom template from Admin settings appended to the content slides. Prerequisite Upload a custom PowerPoint template in Viva Glint Admin settings before testing, Instructions for doing so can be found here. Reporting: Navigation improvements. Viva Glint Reporting users can now retrace their navigation flow—drilling down and drilling up in reports—without losing context. Key changes Replaces the “Go Back” action to the Reporting home page with an alternative clickable experience. Enables users to return to the last Reporting page they were in, supporting improved back navigation within Reporting. Reporting: Enabling Benchmarks. Enabling external benchmarks gives you and your leaders valuable context—showing how your results compare to global and industry peers and complementing the insights you gain from internal comparisons. With a single opt‑in step, Viva Glint unlocks a rich set of benchmark suites (Global, Industry, Country/Region, High‑Performing, and more). Your data remains fully anonymized and aggregated, ensuring privacy and compliance. Customers who opt in consistently report that benchmarks strengthen storytelling, deepen insight quality, and accelerate action planning. We recommend turning on this feature so your teams can get the full value of Viva Glint reporting. Without enabling this feature, customers will not be able to see any external benchmark comparisons and will only have access to internal comparators. By enabling it, organizations agree to allow their survey data to be included in the anonymized benchmark pool, which is required for benchmark visibility. Coming soon to Viva Glint User Access: Upcoming Role Enhancements. In our March release, we’ll be making some changes to roles and permissions in Viva Glint to increase security and flexibility for enterprise organizations. Survey Designer Role The Survey Designer Role in Viva Glint will empower organizations to assign users only the access they need to create and deploy Glint surveys, without granting broader administrative permissions. This targeted role is especially valuable for initiatives like AI transformation, hybrid work, and other change management employee listening programs. New Permissions in Viva Glint o We are introducing permissions for Advanced Configuration, Question Library, Service Configuration (settings), Nudges, and Viva Integrations, offering more granular control over platform access and management. All existing Company Admins will be granted Advanced Configuration access by default. o Company Admin is now renamed to Viva Glint Service Admin. o Assignment of new service admins will now be restricted exclusively to the Microsoft Admin Centre (MAC), ensuring tighter governance and streamlined administration. Copilot Reporting: Copilot will default to ON and move to VFAM as the single control. Starting in March 2026, Copilot in Viva Glint will default to ON for all customers, and the existing Glint admin toggles for Copilot access will be removed. From that point forward, Copilot access will be managed exclusively through Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM), providing a single, streamlined control consistent with other Microsoft Copilot experiences. This change reduces admin workload and ensures a more consistent governance experience. Please review your VFAM settings to prepare for this update. Should you have any questions about managing Copilot access through VFAM, please use this form to reach out to us. If you are part of EECC (formerly VCCP), find the registration link to join the upcoming session where we will cover this feature in detail in the ‘Upcoming events and learning opportunities’ section. Copilot Reporting: Dynamic Topics with Copilot. In March, we will kick off the Dynamic Topics private preview with a small group of customers. By leveraging Copilot, this functionality is designed to enhance the relevance and context of comment themes by extending beyond the current static set of topics and identifying customer-specific topics that can be tracked over time. These custom topics will remain confined to your platform and will not be accessible to Microsoft or other customers. While the initial private preview cohort is full, we may expand preview access as the program progresses so please stay tuned. General availability for Dynamic Topics is targeted for later this spring. Sign Up for Copilot Highlights | Preview. New Thought Leadership Research Drop: Fighting AI Slop with Meta-Cognition Around AI. Organizations are racing to adopt AI, but 60% of employees skip accuracy checks, leading to "workslop" – rushed, low-quality output that erodes trust. Our latest research shows the difference between employees who get real value from AI and those who don't isn't how often they use it; it's how thoughtfully they use it. And building better habits doesn't require technical training. When leaders openly share how they use AI and teams feel safe discussing what's working, employees become far more intentional. By focusing on the quality of AI use, not just the quantity, leaders can turn adoption into lasting impact. Read it here. Customer Success Stories Our very first Viva Glint Partner Story—featuring HRIZONS—is now officially live! HRIZONS EX partnered with a global skin care company to transform its employee listening program from a traditional high‑engagement survey model into a continuous engine for manager enablement, organizational alignment, and workforce effectiveness. By shifting from survey “deployment” to “action activation,” HRIZONS EX co‑created tailored tools and enablement for managers and HRBPs—including guides, content, and rollout support—to strengthen accountability and ensure employee feedback consistently turned into meaningful action. The program moved from periodic measurement to continuous improvement, embedded self‑sustaining capabilities across survey cycles, and unlocked efficiencies through early use of Microsoft 365 Copilot with Viva Glint. The result: greater clarity, scalability, and manager ownership of employee experience outcomes. You can read the full story here. A new year brings renewed focus and fresh opportunities to listen, learn, and act. In this month’s newsletter, we’re sharing the latest updates and insights from Viva Glint & Pulse—designed to help you start the year strong and continue building meaningful, actionable employee listening programs. New on your Viva Glint platform Reporting: Enhancements to Executive Summary Report Export. With this release, Managers will be able to export the default sections from the Executive Summary report in Viva Glint directly to editable PowerPoint slides. This enhancement allows for easier and quicker consumption of this report outside Viva Glint, compared to the previous export method which included static screenshots. Action Taking: Focus Area Enhancements. Customer feedback highlighted that the relationship between Focus Areas (previously referred to as goals) and survey administrations was not always clear. This was largely due to Focus Areas not being directly tied to the survey cycles from which they originated. To address this, Focus Areas are now directly connected to survey cycles, and goal periods have been removed (note that no Focus Areas were deleted as part of this update). This improvement simplifies reporting and ensures Focus Areas more accurately represent the insights gathered from your surveys. Learn more about Focus Areas here and here. Product release strategy: a more continuous, reliable Viva Glint release experience. We’re updating how we release Viva Glint so you get value sooner—and with less waiting when dates shift. Instead of concentrating every change on a single monthly “release day,” we’re moving to a more continuous pace. That means smaller, more frequent updates, and progressive feature rollouts. What this means for you Faster access to improvements. Features ship when they’re ready—no waiting for a full month if a target date moves. Higher reliability. Smaller, incremental releases reduce risk and make issues easier to prevent or quickly correct. Clearer expectations. We’ll continue to share GA timing on the public Microsoft 365 Roadmap and call out any changes that require action. Minimal disruption. Most updates occur with low or zero downtime, and we’ll provide advance notice for any impactful changes. Thank you for partnering with us as we adopt a cadence that’s better aligned to speed, quality, and your planning needs. Coming soon to Viva Glint Upcoming Role Enhancements. In our February release, we’ll be making some changes to roles and permissions in Viva Glint. These changes are designed to increase security, while also providing the flexibility for enterprises to assign the appropriate responsibilities to the right users in their organization. New Permissions in Viva Glint By allowing enterprises to assign admin responsibilities in Viva Glint without providing complete Company Admin rights, the below changes enhance data security and offer greater flexibility for tailored workflows and specific needs. Five new permissions are being introduced: Advanced Configuration, Question Library, Service Configuration (settings), and Nudges, offering more granular control over platform access and management. All existing Company Admins will be granted Advanced Configuration access by default. Company Admin is now renamed to Viva Glint Service Admin, standardising the role name throughout the Microsoft ecosystem for clarity and consistency. Assignment of new service admins will now be restricted exclusively to the Microsoft Admin Centre (MAC), ensuring tighter governance and streamlined administration. Survey Designer Role The Survey Designer Role in Viva Glint will empower organizations to assign users only the access they need to create and deploy Glint surveys, without granting broader administrative permissions. This targeted role is especially valuable for initiatives like AI transformation, hybrid work, and other change management employee listening programs, enabling teams to quickly launch feedback cycles while maintaining security and control. By streamlining survey creation and deployment, organizations can more efficiently capture employee insights and drive meaningful change. Copilot will default to ON and move to VFAM as the single control. Sign Up for Copilot Highlights | Preview. As 2025 draws to a close, we want to thank you for being part of the Viva Glint & Pulse community. This year has been full of innovation and collaboration, and we hope you enjoy a well-deserved, restful break over the holidays. Looking ahead, 2026 promises even more exciting developments to help you strengthen employee engagement and listening strategies. In this edition, discover what’s new and get a glimpse of what’s coming next—we look forward to reconnecting in the new year! New or coming soon on your Viva Glint platform Admin Self-Service: Remove Survey Takers. Previously, Glint admins lacked the ability to remove users from a survey cycle which hindered the flexibility and accuracy of survey data, potentially affecting the overall insights and actions derived from the survey results. Now, with the new 'Remove participants from results' feature, admins are empowered to seamlessly remove participants from a survey in alignment with changes to employee status after the point of survey launch, ensuring that only relevant participants are included (note it is only possible to remove participants from survey cycles that are closed). Learn more here. Admin Self-Service: Delete User Attribute. From December 22 nd , admins can remove outdated or unnecessary custom user attributes from their schema, helping keep data clean, accurate, and within the 100-attribute limit. This self-serve capability streamlines routine data maintenance, reduces dependency on support, and empowers admins to manage their data model with greater autonomy. Admins can delete any flat, custom user attribute that is not required, default, or currently in use for derived attributes, system attributes, user roles, distribution lists, or live surveys. Once deleted, the attribute and all associated data are removed from the schema and historical reports, ensuring reporting remains accurate and up to date. For more information, visit Update Attributes. User Roles: Support User Management. We are excited to announce a new enhancement in Glint that makes it easier than ever to collaborate with trusted partners. Organizations can now add support users—such as Microsoft partners—directly to their Glint instance. These support users can assist with deployment, advanced insights, and complex support tasks, all managed via Entra ID without consuming a Glint license. This update ensures secure, compliant collaboration while accelerating your success. For full instructions, read our documentation here. Why It Matters: Around 120 customers already leverage Microsoft partners to unlock deeper insights and drive meaningful change. Here’s what they are saying: “Glint provided the platform to capture how our colleagues are feeling, and Mercer brought insights that made all the difference. Their team didn’t just interpret the numbers—they helped us uncover the ‘why’ behind the feedback and provided practical, strategic guidance to act on it. Mercer turned raw results into a clear roadmap for meaningful change, aligning every step with our culture and goals. This partnership has been a game-changer for how we support our people.” - US-based finance industry customer “I wanted to send a quick note to let you know how incredibly impressed and grateful our team is for the partnership we have with Eclectik. I can confidently say that your CSM is truly worth her weight in gold to our team. Her thoughtfulness, responsiveness, and sheer creative problem-solving throughout the project were truly off the charts.” - US-based finance industry customer If you are interested in leveraging a Microsoft partner, take a look at our list here! Action Taking: Focus Area Enhancements. In January 2026, we’re introducing enhancements to the focus area experience in Glint to improve how organizations track and act on employee feedback. With this update, focus areas will now be tied to survey cycles, and goal periods will be retired (note no focus areas will be deleted as part of this change). This change simplifies reporting and aligns focus areas more closely with survey insights. New on your Viva Pulse platform New Survey Option: Flexible End Date. Pulse authors can now create surveys with flexible end dates, including open-ended pulses that gather data continuously with no set closing date. With this update, authors can easily request ongoing feedback without needing to start new surveys each time, and respondents are free to submit multiple responses throughout the survey’s duration. Learn more about the Pulse authoring experience here. Current and Upcoming Private Previews Sign Up for Copilot Highlights | Preview. By combining Copilot intelligence, Microsoft 365 data signals, and People Science principles, the agent streamlines feedback collection and reduces administrative overhead for HR and leaders. Unlike traditional Copilot tools that simply summarize information, the Glint Agent acts as a proactive team member: it elicits actionable insights, classifies themes, and accelerates the “feedback-to-action” cycle—helping organizations respond faster and more effectively to employee needs. When leaders build trust, recognize learning, and provide role‑specific, just‑in‑time training, employees move from anxiety to capability, increasing adoption and meaningful impact. Read it here. To help you get the most out of Viva Glint & Pulse, this newsletter brings you the latest insights, updates, and enhancements designed to elevate your platform usage and employee listening programs. Be sure to check out the new "Customer Success Stories" section showcasing an inspiring example from DocuSign. New on your Viva Glint platform Admin Self Service: Data Retention Update. Last month we shared the new feature enabling admin to retain identifiable data for deleted users. We initially planned to restart Entra Delete Signals in Viva Glint on November 1st. However, since we are still working on enhancements to give Admins more control over user data management, especially regarding Entra Delete Signals, we will continue to pause Entra Delete Signal in Viva Glint until the end of June 2026. The signals will resume on July 1, 2026. This extension will give us time to implement all necessary user data controls for Admins, such as email address/employee ID retention, viewing a list of deleted users, and restoring users, when possible, before reactivating the Entra Delete Signals. Additional information can be found in the Message Center as well as here and here. UI Enhancements: Visual Indicator Added for Required Questions. In the past, when survey takers tried to skip a survey question that required a response they would see an error message. To make things clearer, we've added the text * Required under questions that are mandatory. This will help survey takers spot questions that must be answered right away to avoid confusion and disruption. UI Enhancements: Updated Placeholder Text for Comments. The default comment placeholder text for rating questions in Viva Glint surveys has been updated from Add a comment (optional) to What can be improved in this area and what’s working well? to further encourage survey participants to provide thoughtful, actionable, and higher-quality feedback. This change is intended to drive more frequent and meaningful responses. Please note that this update applies only to the default placeholder text for rating questions; the placeholder text remains customizable, and any existing customized placeholder text will remain unchanged. Reporting: Workplace Patterns Report. Now generally available in Viva Glint, this report highlights the relationships between employee survey scores and workplace activity and collaboration patterns without custom analysis. Enabled for administrators and extendable to other roles, this feature allows users to quickly identify and share actionable insights, enabling faster, data-driven decisions and boosting engagement across your organization. Learn more here. Reporting: Regional Benchmarks. Building on the refreshed Global, Top 10%, Top 25%, and Industry benchmark suites in Viva Glint earlier this year, we have updated the Country & Region benchmark suites for 2025. These new benchmarks offer organizations more precise and up-to-date comparative insights into employee feedback across different regions, supporting better decision-making and more targeted action plans. Make sure to opt into benchmarks in the platform to access the benchmarks and related resources. Copilot Enhancements: Multilingual Support. Viva Glint Copilot Localization lets users interact with Copilot in their chosen language, supporting prompts and responses in more than 70 languages. Copilot replies in the language set on the user's dashboard by default, but if a prompt is submitted in another language or contains mixed languages, Copilot will detect this and respond in the same language. This applies to both the Copilot sidecar and comments panel, making it easier for HR and managers in global organizations to use Copilot seamlessly. Advanced language detection and translation help Copilot deliver accurate and useful responses, regardless of language or dashboard settings. Learn more here and here. Kindly note that this enhancement will be rolled out gradually throughout November and is expected to be fully rolled out by the end of the month. For the latest updates, please refer to the M365 roadmap item until it becomes available to all customers. Copilot Updates: Known Issues, Improvements, Model Upgrade. We’re committed to improving your experience with Copilot in Viva Glint. Here are three key updates: Topic Count in Comment Summarization - The number of topics in comment summaries may not have matched user instructions previously. This issue has been fixed and should now work correctly. Sample Comment Count Display Issue - The displayed count of sampled comments may be inaccurate, though the underlying data and summarization are correct. This display-only issue has been fixed and should now work correctly. Applying Manager Hierarchy Filter - When asking Copilot to summarize comments by manager hierarchy, the filter may not apply correctly. As a workaround, apply the manager hierarchy filter to the report first, then request the summary. We’re working on a permanent fix. Model Upgrade Spotlights - In July, we upgraded Copilot to newer GPT models. As a result, you may notice that Copilot’s responses to the same prompt could differ from those generated prior to July. This change reflects our ongoing commitment to leveraging the most advanced AI models available. We continuously evaluate the latest large language models for performance and accuracy and will keep you informed whenever significant model upgrades occur. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to enhance Copilot’s capabilities. Visit the new blog post here to learn about another exciting Copilot enhancement coming soon! New Thought Leadership Research Drop: Amplifying Clarity and Impact of AI Agents by Aligning on Desired Outcomes. As AI agents turn AI technology from a personal productivity tool into a team value generator, it’s time to expand our thinking from not just the activities we want them to accomplish, but also the outcomes we want to achieve. The October Research Drop explores differences in AI agent adoption, multi-agent clarity, and team collaboration between employees on teams focusing on solely activities versus activities and outcomes. Customer Success Stories Docusign Accelerates Speed of Insights by 92% with AI-Powered Analysis In any global company, timely and accurate data is essential for shaping go-to-market strategy, and Docusign is no exception. When launching a strategic employee survey for one of our largest departments responsible for go-to-market strategy, the goal was clear: quickly synthesize feedback to help leaders with product selling approaches and enablement, then guide key action planning and strategic decision-making. The Challenge: Data Volume vs. Time The survey had a high response rate with over 3,000 detailed and thoughtful comments from employees. These comments had rich insights but would have been incredibly time-intensive to process manually. Traditional analysis would have taken weeks, delaying decisions that needed to happen quickly. The volume of the data, combined with limited bandwidth from our small but mighty People Analytics team, made a faster, scalable approach essential. The AI Solution: Speed and Precision To meet the demand for quick, actionable insights, we implemented an approach that used both Viva Glint Copilot and Gemini to help analyze employee comments. Copilot was used primarily for the initial analysis across the thousands of comments, helping us create themes across all comments, themes from each specific survey question, and ideas for actions - all of which would have taken our team weeks, but was now accomplished in mere hours. This allowed us to pivot from manual data crunching to strategic analysis almost instantly. The Results: 92% Time Savings and Increased Speed to Strategic Impact Implementing AI into our survey analysis process shattered our previous timelines. An effort that would typically consume around 60 hours of manual work (including comment analysis, theme identification, summarization, comparisons, and action taking suggestions) was condensed to just 5 hours, representing a nearly 92% reduction in spent time. Most critically, key findings were delivered to leadership within 24 hours of the survey closing. This speed allowed leadership to immediately move into action planning and strategic decision-making. In summary, using AI enabled us to quickly and accurately surface key issues important to employees, provide impactful, detailed insights that were incredibly helpful to leadership, and helped facilitate action planning and strategic decision-making. The Future of Surveys is AI-Powered The success of using AI for this strategic survey reinforced our belief that AI, specifically Viva Glint Copilot, is a powerful and transformative tool for all People teams. Inspired by the strategic survey success, our People Analytics team launched Copilot to our People team partners, developing internal training to ensure that Copilot is being used in a way that maximizes its impact. Our partners are now using Viva Glint Copilot to help gain insights from the feedback (comments) shared by employees in our largest company Engagement Pulse Surveys. Further Viva Glint Copilot use cases are planned for the future.
