Error: The namespace cannot be queried. The specified domain either does not exist. Hi, I have an issue with DFS at our site. It has been working fine for years, but recently the ability to manage it using the DFS MMC no longer works. DFS is still working for the users fine and I can map to it manually, but the MMC tool no longer connects. I can create new namespaces fine though. The error is: " The namespace cannot be queried. The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. " I can't risk recreating the namespace due to the impact on users, so anyone have any idea to fix this? Hello, our server has encountered an abnormal DFS service, which currently leads to an abnormal synchronization of Active directory policies. and caused a series of failures. OS: Windows Server 2019 Now run the command: gpupdate /force Unable to update computer policy successfully, Windows tries to read a file from a domain controller, but failsSolved3.1KViews0likes14CommentsDFS and DFSR failover
Hi, I'm looking at setting up DFS Namespace and DFSR for some remote branches and just wanted to get some expert advice: I understand that if a local server at a branch office fails then the users will be auto-redirected to another server (according to the sites configuration). But when happens is a network link fails? I know DFSR will fail, but will the namespace still stay at the local server? In that case what happens when the link comes backup? secondly, am I right in thinking that there is no awareness in the Namespace that would stop 2 users trying to open/save the same file from 2 different branch offices. If that was to happen how would DFSR deal with the 2 modified files. Thanks.1.4KViews0likes2Comments
