3 TopicsDev Tools and Too much RAM usage
I'm on latest version of Windows 10 and using Edge stable Version 83.0.478.37 (Official build) (64-bit) But, this problem has been happening since few weeks ago which I was using Edge stable version 81. When letting dev tools be open for longer periods of time such as 10 hours, the RAM usage on the system increases substantially. after 10 hours the RAM usage of a single tab which usually uses 700MB goes as high as 4000MB. I have 16GB of DDR4 RAM. I don't do anything special in the Dev tools, I just open it and then use a network throttling preset. this causes instability on the browser, the dev tools UI gets stuck, becomes unresponsive etc. these all happen in long periods of time of Dev tools usage. I've sent this using Feedback button on Edge too.2.2KViews1like3CommentsBug in Dev tools | Network Throttling setting reverts back and resets after closing/reopening
Microsoft Edge Version 84.0.488.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) When I set a custom network throttling profile (that I created in Edge) in Dev tools, after closing and reopening the Dev tools, I see my preference is set back to default, which in this case is "online", so the throttling preference is lost/reset after closing/reopening Dev tools. this shouldn't happen. the preference should be preserved at least until I close the tab.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsIs this really kb/s or KB/s? Edge Dev tools - Network Throttling
I'm getting mixed results when I set network throttling in Edge Version 84.0.488.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I can't be sure if it correctly means kilobits per second (kb/s) or kilobytes per second (KB/s). when I assume it to be (kb/s) and then multiply my desired download speed by 8 (to get the actual KB/s which is the unit that's used in real world) before entering in Edge, I see on the browser task manager that the tab I'm apply throttling to is exceeding the speed limit by a huge margin. so I need to be sure if it's just not a typo (kb/s instead of KB/s) and it actually is kilobits per seconds and I have to multiply my number by 8. is it possible that the network speed that I'm seeing in the browser task manager for a particular tab to also include the cache that browser loads from my computer?1.7KViews2likes0Comments
