Upgrade
6 TopicsHas a patch been put out to allows 7th generation processors to upgrade to Windows 11?
I read some information on a thread on here that said that 7th generation processors weren't going to be able to be upgraded to Windows 11 because of the "Meltdown" vulnerability. The last update to the thread was from 2021. Does anyone know if there is going to be a patch or something available to upgrade my i7 7500u to Windows 11? I have an i7 8500u that is compatible. It's the same laptop, the Spectre x360. But the 7th gen still says incompatible. Thanks!1.7KViews1like3CommentsWindows 11 upgrade - No taskbar.
After upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, the taskbar is empty. No icons, no access to several key programs. For several weeks I was able to re-initiate the taskbar by loading Task Manager, ending the Windows Explorer task and then running explorer.exe from File|Run new task. This no longer functions. I have tried uninstalling the Windows 11 security update as suggested elsewhere but this does not seem to cause any change in the situation. In the past when I could still re-initiate the taskbar, it would often flash to Sunset lighting as if it suddenly recognized that the time and then the icons would appear. To be clear, the taskbar is not hidden or in tiny mode. It is present but empty. I regret upgrading to Windows 11.2KViews0likes2Commentsi am unable to upgrade in windows 11 through windows insider programme (dev channel)

There needs to be a way to view available digital licenses inside our Microsoft account, I think in Windows settings => update and security => Activation would be the most suitable place. it has benefits, the most important one is so user can see their available licenses in their Microsoft account and make a wise decision based on that info. please upvote this feedback in feedback hub:https://aka.ms/AAbdhft48KViews4likes2CommentsWindows Activation troubleshooter shows "Upgrade" even when you are Downgrading edition
Happens on Windows 10 20H2 and also insider Beta/Dev. I have Windows 10 pro Workstation installed, but in my MSFT account I have digital license for Windows 10 pro only. so I use activation troubleshooter and it successfully finds the license and offers to convert Windows 10 edition from Pro Workstation to Pro, to activate it, but it shows by Mistake to "Upgrade" editions, even though Pro Workstation to Pro is a DOWNGRADE. so Windows needs to be aware of edition changes and show the correct term to the user. p.s Pro Workstation is more expensive than Pro and also has more features. It started Jun 2020. Whether the underlying installation was 1909 or 2004 it did not work. The normal upgrade to 20H2 worked fine. But still I cannot run any Insider build any more. Now I only wait 20 minutes before pressing reset, the rollback works fine every time I try. I waited for hours (i.e. 8+ hour) too, where it still was stuck there.
