When using Microsoft Edge with the vertical tab, there is no easy way to quickly close the tabs. I believe adding a close button near the icon of the tab will help to close unwanted tabs more quicker. Like the pic showing. I understand that it may make the view look ugly, but if it will display immediately only if the mouse hovers on it will make it better. Since using ctrl + w to closing the tab can only close the tab I am looking at, not the very specific unwanted tab.1.8KViews0likes4CommentsThe "Alerts and Tips" menu item should integrate with "What's New and Tips"
The "Alerts and Tips" menu item under the main menu coincides with the "What's New and Tips" menu item under the "Help and Feedback" secondary menu, as a first-level menu, the "Alerts and Tips" menu item is not used frequently, and should be considered to integrate with the "What's New and Tips" menu item and put into the secondary menu.517Views1like0CommentsThe 3-dots menu and some context menu of Edge needs to redesign
At present, the items displayed in the 3-dots menu in the upper right corner of Edge are very chaotic, more and more menu items are put into the primary menu instead of the secondary menu, resulting in the primary menu becoming extremely lengthy and messy. So, I think Edge needs to redesign the whole menu, include 3-dots menu and context menu. Here are some screenshots, I'm using Edge Canary 96.0.1053.0 with a 1920×1080 (125% scaling) screen : I think Edge's menu style can learn from Firefox 29~56, like these below, Using grid block layout to expand the judgment range of clicks can also avoid the problem of too complicated menus to a certain extent.2.3KViews0likes0CommentsVertical Tabs Design Rework
Hi everyone! I have tried using vertical tabs for some time now and I noticed that they are not as convenient as they should be. Instead of reducing height and freeing more viewable space in the window, they add more UI blocking the view. Maybe, turning on the "vertical tabs" feature should just move all the UI to the side? I attached a raw concept image, what do you think about it?723Views0likes0CommentsEdge Mobile UI refresh / customisation
I would love to see an updated mobile UI - primarily taking another look at the bottom toolbar/menu as I think the current icons aren't necessarily the best use of space. Specifically, I think the back/forward buttons probably aren't that useful for the majority of users as the same actions can normally be performed via swipe gestures, or (in the case of Android) built in navigation in the OS. These buttons could probably be relocated to the secondary flyout menu. In their place, I think it would be much more useful to have a new tab button, and most importantly a search button - which essentially gives focus to the URL bar. A lot of users frequently request placing the URL bar at the bottom to make it easier to reach, but Brave implements a search button on the bottom bar (see screenshot), and I've found this has completely removed the need for a bottom URL bar. I'm sure countless others will disagree with how I'd personally like my icons set up, which is why, like most things - I think the abilty for users to customise the UI to suit them would be best. We already have this option for the secondary menu, it would be great if the primary UI menu could be customised in the same way.1.2KViews0likes0Comments
