Shared PC
5 TopicsShared PC's in Intune vs Intune For Education
My school district has about 40,000 students and instead of assigning PC's directly to each student, each class has a cart of PC's that the student logs in with his / her Office 365 account and uses the pc. We are currently in the process of moving off of Active Directory and into Intune to manage our pc's. However, due to our naming conventions, the pc's will all be hybrid ad joined machines. With all this being said, is it better for us to set up the pc's as Kiosk mode, and use a devices license for each, set them up as a Shared PC with the current users' credentials deleted when they sign off, and the new user signs in, or to follow the procedures in Intune for Education, which is what we are currently following. M thought would be the Shared PC route, and to have each cart be represented as though it was a lab setting. Does this make sense? I am open to any and all suggestions and feel free to be as detailed as possible.Solved1.8KViews0likes3CommentsSupport for machine centric queues
To support the Intune Shared PC concept where a local guest user logs on to a machine (and get their profile deleted upon logout), support for machine centric print queues would be a good addition to the feature set of Universal Print. A machine centric queue are mapped for all users (local or cloud based) who logs on the computer, similar to a USB connected printer and a local TCP port mapped printer.2.4KViews24likes3CommentsShared PC and manage user

However, the organization also has Intune for managing their devices, in which PC A is not currently registered. If the organization like to manage the shared device and register their device, what it would be like and. a. who will be the primary owner? b. What policies in Intune is used for managing these PC? c. Only allow selected Azure AD to use the PC. Any help would be appreciated. It would be really great if multiple profile screen could be configured to always be present on startup without special flags and was an option within profile screen. Also, the ability to always ask which profile before opening URLs as well. Currently there is the option to force specific URLs to open specific URLs but not an option to always select. Perhaps some form of automated learning could be used on device to predict which profile uses each base URL frequently and to have that profile highlighted instead of the first one or last one. Very useful for multiple users in a family but shared PC login.905Views0likes1CommentIntune - Shared PC - Internet Explorer
I have a scenario a group of PCs need to be setup as a Kiosks. The users need to log in with one local account and access Internet Explorer. Also, management (such as deploy apps) wants to be able to manage it from Intune. Has anyone set this up? At a high level, what did you use to set it up? Is there a way to set it up in Intune and set up assigned app as Internet Explorer? I know you can used Windows Config Designer to set it all up. I attached a screenshot of where and it even shows a specific example for Internet Explorer. Thanks in advance.1KViews0likes0Comments
