Give Remote Desktop Licence from W server to W 11 Pro
In my network I have both a windows server 2019 Essential PC and a a windows 11 Pro PC. In both I have configured windows Remote desktop (RD) but only the first one allows me to log in to 2 users simultainously. Even tho I did the following to the Win 11 Pro PC: Log into the server and open MMC.exe. File → Add/Remove Snap-in → Group Policy Object → Add → Finish → OK. Double click Local Computer Policy → double click Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Remote Desktop Services → Remote Desktop Session Host → Connections. Limit Number of Connections = 4. Restrict Remote Desktop Services users to a single Remote Desktop Services session = DISABLED. it doesnt allow me to log in with a second user if the first isnt loged out first. So I realized the problem is the lack of the neccesery licence, only found in windows server. This is why I ask for your help to find a way to use the licence installed in the Windows server PC thats in the same network, to give to the Win 11 Pro PC the capability for multiple RD users. Hello, I have successfully setup HID device (U2F keys) redirection with RemoteFX to Windows 2019 Terminal Server (on premise) - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/remote/usb-devices-unavailable-remotefx-usb-redirection I have used a device GUID "{745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da}". And devices appear successfully when user gets into desktop, so desktop application may access the HID device successfully . Problem: HID device does not appear/listed on HID hardware list , while RDP session is still on Winlogon desktop state. I have developed Credential Provider that needs to interact with such redirected U2F device to continue user login into desktop session. Is there a solution for this problem? Is there a registry setting or other API for RemoteFX RDP to enable earlier device redirection, during Winlogon desktop state ? Thanks!
