Having logged a call with support i've been informed its impossible to deploy an icon allong with the config to deploy a pwa? Using the following policy https://nam06.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.microsoft.com%2Fen-us%2Fdeployedge%2Fmicrosoft-edge-policies%23configure-list-of-force-installed-web-apps&data=04%7C01%7Co365sup8%40microsoft.com%7C01aa4572328c4f549a3a08d97864a726%7C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7C1%7C0%7C637673195983809537%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=HlbpXTlA%2F6btSLu5qp7aKIj3g%2B0Mt4MQfBiGmdqyY0U%3D&reserved=0 I wanted to control the icon delivered on the desktop when installed after using the "create_desktop_shortcut": true, "default_launch_container": "window" } configuration. Im struggling to understand why you couldn't pull down an .ico or image such as a png to act as its icon. Am I supposed to wait until the new microsoft app store is available and use pwabuilder.com?4.3KViews0likes4CommentsAllow PWAs to automatically run with Startup Boost
We used to have a setting behind a flag to enable PWAs to automatically launch in the background when Edge was launched. I would like the option to be able to automatically launch a PWA with Startup Boost. Thanks for listening and for your consideration. An ideal setting to enable the option would be in edge://settings/content/siteDetails?site=htttpsXYZSolved4KViews1like8CommentsPWA progressive web app
Hi team ♥ First of all i'm super glad of all the changes which have been made on edge chronium recently. Foccusing on PWA 2 more options added whrn you install install allowing having tabs & launch on windows start But allowing tabs spot on a visual bug for me wich is tabs overlays minimal-ui in manifest. Am i the only one or should we tell devs to fix it ? LOVE YOU ALL ♥ HotCakeX Elliot_Kirk josh_bodner1.2KViews1like3CommentsInstalled PWA - blank screen on launch
I have a web PWA at https://ourcardgame.ca After opening it in Edge, the option (icon with plus symbol) to install the App appears in the address bar. Clicking that and choosing "Install" works fine. The PWA opens in a stand alone window. Later, if I use Edge to visit the same site, the address bar shows an icon with a tooltip of "To open this link, choose an app". Clicking that icon opens the standalone window with the PWA running in it. That works fine. However, if I later click the Windows 10 start menu and click on the icon to start the PWA, the window opens and is completely blank. If I open the DevTools window, the network log seems to be fine and shows evidence that the index.html file is loaded along with resources referenced in that file. But the screen is blank. As before, if I first open the web page and click to open it in the app, it opens the window and works fine. Any ideas?Solved9.8KViews1like3Comments[Suggesion] Add an option to make websites installd as apps to be always on top, like Windows apps
Add the option to somewhere like this As to Why I want this feature and reasons behind it, there are a couple: I want to install YouTube website as an app, make it to be on top of all windows so it won't be behind the program that I use. for example I want to code in Visual Studio and watch a YouTube video to learn something and apply it directly. I want to have Bing or Google search installed as an app in Edge, launch the app, resize the window to have a rectangle shape, put it on the left side to have a side bar which always stays on top. now I can always quickly search for anything I want in that Edge app, no matter what program I use, because it stays on top.*** there are lots of other examples, where websites host a specific service and when we add it in Edge as an app, we will be able to use it just like a real Windows app and have it accessible on all programs if we pin it to be always on top. ***You could say that I could use Windows 10 search on the taskbar but It's not the same. because when you click on something, a picture, video etc, that is a link, the search app in Windows 10 will open it in a full browser window. what i would want is to view that image, watch that YouTube video, right from my Windows 10 taskbar, without going to a full browser window.
