Microsoft 365 apps for macOS close and reinstall without notification - Known Issue
Hi, I was hoping to post this here to maybe get some more visibility about an outstanding issue regarding the built-in Intune Microsoft 365 apps for macOS package as documented here: ( https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/mem/intune/app-management/no-notification-microsoft365-apps-macos-reinstall ) We are still seeing this issue occurring where it appears that Intune is unable to correctly detect that the Office Suite for macOS was deployed. This causes the application to display as "Pending Install" and causes all M365 apps (Outlook, Teams (work or school), OneNote, OneDrive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to reinstall when device syncs, causing user loss of data and productivity. I've seen posts about this issue as far back as 2022. Is there any current work being done to address this issue? The current suggested resolution is to change the app assignment from "Required" to "Available for Enrolled Devices" which is not really ideal. We are using ABM with ADE (w/ user affinity). Mac OS Sonoma 14.5 If any MS MVP's can post an update, that would be really helpful. ScottSawyer
MacOS Defender and Full Disk Access
Working on deploying Defender on MacOS via intune...most of it is solid, however I noticed "Microsoft Defender Endpoint Security Extension" doesnt have full disk access and needs it...the native "Microsoft Defender" has it ok...its deployed as the option for Defender under MacOS and not a LOB...anyone else run into this?Command line to forcesync the apps from Intune to macOS
Guys, Does anyone know is there any command line to do force sync the .pkg, .dmg or LOB apps from Intune to macOS? If so, please let me know. I've a script to appear app icon on the dock via intune however, in order to execute dockutil should be installed on the macOS. So I've deployed dockutil pkg in Intune. When running the script, I've to check whether dockutil got installed or not. If not will add the force sync command in the script of appearing app icon on dock items. Thanks.
