SQL Server upgrade from SQL 2008 SP3
Hello all, I know that SQL 2008 R2 with SP3 has already been retired. We actually still have a system running it and with Windows Server 2008 R2. I am going to do the "upgrade" by using the Migrate to a new server approach. The old SQL server is with the DB storage inside this Virtual Machine. My idea is to keep this old DB as safe as possible. So I am going to backup this server with using Snapshot, as this old server is the VM. Then I planned to prepare build a new OS server with the new SQL server. My idea is to set up like that - Original stage Win OS SQL ver 2008 R2 SP1 2008 R2 SP3 Interim stage 2019 Datacentre 2017 Final stage 2022 2022
