Appear offline in Skype for Business
Hello Community, Ever wondered if we can appear Offline in Skype for Business? Well, then you are at the right place. I see multiple instances of chats with the same contact. This is really cluttering up my Skype for Business app window in both my mobile iOS and my desktop app. Example: Chat session with Joe at 10:00 for 10 minutes Chat session with Joe again at 14:00 for 15 minutes Now I see two separate chat streams with the same contact. Why isn't this singular? If I have a chat session with Joe and i do not actively remove/delete that chat session, shouldn't it just continue the next time one of us write? Is this by design? Do I need to adjust something in Skype for Business Admin on 365? I am using latest builds . iOS Version 6.11.1.310 and Mac OSX 16.2.156 Please help, this is sure to cause complaints amongst staff and I expect will introduce user acceptance numbers to drop. Especially if this is to be compard to WhatsApp, or any attempt to replace WhatsApp. Cheers p
"Network Unavailable"
I seem to have a strange issue. Really hard to search for this because the error being stated doesn't match what is going on. When I try to use Skype for business on my work computer it states "Network Unavailable". This is the only computer on the network that has this issue and the problem started after a power outage in the building. The computer has all network functionality except with Skype for Business. Things I've tried with no results: Restarted workstation Tried running the fix on Microsoft office (since Skype for Business is part of the package) Made sure the computer had all Group Policy Restarted the Skype for business server on local network. Made sure firewall settings were set properly and all services running. Not sure what could be causing the Skype for Business to say "Network Unavailable". Any and all help is appreciated.
Send a 'broadcast' message
Hi! We are looking for a way to send a message to a group of users (maybe all) in a kind of broadcast way. For example an alert like "please disconnect from that system bla bla" or "we have this new feature, please answer in case of bla bla" Any idea on how to do it? Thanks!
Skype for Business - Translator
A long while back, it was announced that Skype and soon Skype for business was going to use Bing translator to enable translation real time. While the video would be nice my biggest want is just translation for the IM. We have a sister company in China and I would love to use skype for business to enable better communication. However when I tested it out internally it did not translate the Chinese. Has this been scrapped or do I need to enable it somewhere?MS Phone System - SMS texting?
We have a number of field personnel setup with Teams/PSTN calling plans. They assumed that their PSTN number would be able to send/receive SMS text messages to interact with people outside the organization, but this doesn't seem to be the case. (Apparently RingCentral supports this?) We just had one field sales rep complain that their lead had been texting her, but she never received the text messages. Of course we don't want to share personal mobile numbers with business contacts, and having a separate PSTN number and Mobile cell #'s just to support this seems excessive and old school, but maybe that's the only solution. Are there any plans to support this type of functionality? I don't necessarily care whether it's Teams or Skype for Business client based - but the ability to interface Microsoft Phone System PSTN with SMS is what we need. I see some third party products that give you the ability to text from SfB, but they do so by assigning you a dedicated additional telephone number - clearly not the solution that would work for us. Just set up a new Skype4B hybrid (first time in yeeeeeeeeeeers). Attaching an on-premises pool with one set of SIP addresses to a Skype4B Online environment with another set of domains for SIP addresses. Online users can see the presence info and communicate with On-Prem users. On-Prem users can respond back to Online users if the Online user initiates the conversation. On-Prem users cannot see presence info for Online users and get an error stating "We couldn't reach [user] to send this message." Event Viewer says: "A SIP request made by Lync failed in an unexpected manner (status code 80ef0194). Hello I have been having problems with skype recently. Two lines of message are printed. Currently, four companies are experiencing the same problem. There is a problem with KB3127934 and KB3127939. However, this update is not installed. I am sorry that English is poor. Please help me.
