The Microsoft Edge Insider (Edge Beta, Edge Dev and Edge Canary) 's icon in Windows operating system are different colour according to the channel. Edge Beta-Blue Edge Dev-Green Edge Canary-Yellow However, Microsoft Edge Insiders' icon colour in Android are exactly same colour with Edge Canary. Although the apps name is different, it still make Android users confuse between Edge Beta, Edge Dev and Edge Canary because the same batch colour in the icon.1.1KViews0likes0Comments[Search Engines] Favicons do not appear next to the built-in providers by-default
Describe the problem: Edge ships with some built-in search-engines. These vary by-country, but for UK users they are "Bing", "Yahoo!", "Google US" and "DuckDuckGo". None of the built-in engines will initially show any icons next to them -- all just show a blank-page icon, making the feature look broken. Suggest a solution: Either one of the following: Edge should ship with the favicons for each built-in search-engine already cached Or the first time Edge is ran, where a valid Internet-connection is present, it should immediately retrieve the favicon for each one silently, in the background Any workarounds? After the user has visited the website of one of the search-engines that comes built-in, the favicon will get cached. If the user were to return to the "Manage search engines" screen, you will then see the icon next to each one you have visited. However, given many users are unlikely to have visited all of the sites before they first access the "Manage search engines" screen, the result will be blank-page icons for most, if not all, of them. Before posting on this site, have you suggested this previously using the "Send Feedback" feature built-into Edge? I have, yes. When installing a website, such as Instagram, as PWA in Edge dev (Version 88.0.685.3), the Instagram icon appears in the apps list of Start menu, at the top under "recently added" list (not pinned yet). when you drag & drop it on the Start menu to Pin it, it will have a small centered icon. but if you go to edge://apps/ and Pin Instagram's icon from there then Instagram's icon will be in normal big size in the Start menu Left side is big and normal, right side is very small pea-sized icon created by drag & drop. Instagram is one of the websites used as example, the same thing happens to Twitter, YouTube, Bing etc (tried all of them). see if you can reproduce it and send feedback through browser (preferably with "recreate my problem") Windows 10 20H2 latest version5.6KViews1like6CommentsNew feature | Edge PWAs are getting Hubs
This an example of Spotify web player and YouTube installed as a PWA in Edge Version 91.0.862.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) in this version, which is the first time this is appearing in a installed PWA, only the downloads button/hub appears there. I hope in the future the Global Media Controls button also become available there, that will make the most sense. we'll have to wait and see whether favorites, history or collections icons will be there too or not.858Views1like0CommentsNew icon for the Web Widget floating button
Previously looked like this. Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.844.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) So what do you think? I personally would prefer it without the white background, only the Edge icon itself and preferably bigger when the white background is no longer there. I also think it makes more sense now, the previous one wasn't really relatable.1.7KViews1like4CommentsVertical Tabs has got a new icon!
this must be the 3rd time the vertical tabs icon has changed. the arrow changes when you switch between vertical and horizontal tab strips, which is a very nice little detail they paid attention to, i like it! the only thing that needs changing now is the new tab page icon the NTP icon is replaced everywhere (WDAG window, inPrivate mode window) but not on the regular Edge window. it should look like this (new) Not this (old) please send feedback.2.2KViews5likes6CommentsNew Immersive Reader Icon animation on Edge canary

Hi, What does Edge use as a icon, when creating a PWA from a website? We created some PWA's of our websites for testing, but all of the PWA's just show a letter on a gray background. In Android, I can move a test website to the Home Screen, and it will show the correct icon. So I know the manifest & image is loading correctly from the index.html. I created some other PWA's from random sites, and they seem to work. So I'm a bit of a loss here what Edge is looking for, and where the image needs to be. cheers! rob6.7KViews0likes7CommentsSS38: screenshot based warning - color tabs - reload - download status on tabs
Suggestion (SS): 38 Classification: warning - download on tabs PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 4 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) Edge devs, i wrote you before via feedback app, but i continue the topic here, so that other chromium based devs can read it too. We talked about reload by domain and why such feature is cool and useful. now a similar suggestion is that you detect all website that has the same identical layout (so screenshot based). if i click via menu bar or right click menu "warn me based on this website" you color all tabs that have the similar layout/design. related to the picture, you warn me if the link has not be saved correctly on all other tabs. now about this website we generally** can see such problems via the icon in the tab, but there are a lot other examples, where we need to check manually, otherwise we batch close not completed websites. **there are still situations where the icon is not a valid method to know if the website (in this case webarchive) completed the task correctly or not. this was another example we talked via feedback app where maybe a better integration between "smart screenshot warning" and "reload tab" should happen. another suggestion related to this is to show me on the tab an icon --> that marks you are downloading files from such tab and once the download is done, you color it in green.1.6KViews1like1Commentjust my opinion with edge new icons
as you know edge changed the icons of the mac app. now they looks like https://imgur.com/a/eImIgtl Just my opinion about edge new icons. As you know new icons looks pretty similar especially if you use it in small size on the dock. For me it was much better the old version, we could better understand which version is what. now they seems all identical, there is just a small banner with different colors. obviously if you keep the icon at max size you notice the difference. i make a lot of chaos especially between dev and beta, because other browser use such color inverted. i wish the team could rethinking that and maybe use different icons like other browsers do too PS: i already liked your old version icons. this is not because it was much easier to switch app, but because the old icon was already just fine.1.6KViews0likes2Comments
