3 TopicsThe Right-Click Menu in Edge Is a Mess — Let Us Customize It
I’m writing this out of sheer frustration. The right-click context menu in Microsoft Edge has become a bloated, chaotic mess. It’s packed with options I never use, cluttered with features I didn’t ask for, and completely lacking in user control. Every time I try to do something simple — copy text, inspect an element, save an image — I’m forced to wade through a swamp of irrelevant entries. Why is there still no native way to customize this menu? No toggle, no drag-and-drop, no “hide this item” option. Just a static wall of Microsoft’s assumptions about what I need. I’m not asking for miracles. I’m asking for basic UX respect: • Let users remove or hide items they don’t use. • Let us reorder the menu so frequently used actions are at the top. • Let us disable features like that we don't use without having to dig through obscure settings or registry hacks. This isn’t a niche request. Just look at the Remove unnecessary items from right-click menu in Edge | Microsoft Community Hub thread — users have been asking for this for years. The silence is deafening. Edge has come a long way, but this context menu issue is a glaring oversight. Please, give us the power to clean up our own workspace. We’re not asking for less functionality — we’re asking for control.145Views2likes1CommentFeature Ask: Implement Distraction Control Feature in Microsoft Edge
I would like to suggest adding a feature to Microsoft Edge that allows users to hide distracting items on a webpage, similar to Safari's Distraction Control feature. This feature would enhance the browsing experience by enabling users to focus on the main content without unnecessary distractions. If there is one already, please let me know. I find the new sidebar mobile sites feature very useful. I am a Windows 11 user, so I could previously always just use Windows 11 snap layouts to drag one site to the left and one to the right. But with sidebar mobile sites, as seen in the image, the two sites are now a "locked pair" that can be moved around and resized independently. I also like the Edge "apps" feature that opens a site in a dedicated window. It helps me organize my window layout better and sometimes helps me keep focus better. However, it appears that the sidebar cannot be activated in Edge apps. I can hit Ctrl + Shift + E to open sidebar search, but I can't activate any of the other sidebar apps.501Views0likes0Comments
