System Center team at Microsoft is excited to announce the release of UR9 (Update Release 9) version for System Center 2016. This release contains some new features and key bug fixes in Data Protection Manager (DPM), Operations Manager (SCOM), Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) and Service Manager (SM) modules. As part of our commitment to help System Center customers better manage and modernize their data center environments, we have been releasing new System Center update versions with new features and bug fixes once every 6 months. The next update release for System Center 2016 will be UR10 and is expected to come out in another 6 months. Customers upgrading to UR9 for System Center 2016 will get benefitted by new features, bug fixes and performance improvements in different System Center modules as mentioned below 1) Data Protection Manager (DPM) Key bugs fixed In some scenarios, pruning job failures leading to storage bloat. Feature Improvements An additional layer of authentication is added for critical operations. User will be prompted to enter a security PIN to perform “Stop Protection” with “Delete data” operations.
