Hello,
I have a windows server 2012 R2 running WSUS. and I have a group of 2012 R2 servers that will randomly not check in.
I can rebuild the software distribution directory with the process below, reboot the servers and most times they will check it. But it seems to be a one time check in.
What else can cause this? Is there a way to determine if this is a server side issue or client issue?
a. Stop the Automatic Updates service
b. Rename the software distribution folder (i.e. C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution).
c. Restart the Automatic Update service
d. Run wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow
e. Run wuauclt /reportnow
