Upgrade active directory to win 2022

We have 3  root domain and 3 child domain , all windows server 2012 r2 (forest and function domain is 2016). should upgrade root or child first ?

Ah 👍 personally, I would start from root and do child domain later. It's all compatible with each other, so it's preference I guess

So I can upgrade child first ? or additional child and root the same time .

    You can also upgrade the child first if that's easier for you of course, as long as you have two Domain Controllers in each Domain so that you have a running Active Directory. (You can transfer FSMO roles to the machine that is not being upgraded at that moment and transfer back afterwards)
