I have a Windows server 2012 R2 failover cluster of 2 DHCP servers. I need to replace them with 2019 servers. In the end they need to have the IP addresses of the 2012 servers. I am trying to understand the steps needed. I have both the 2012 and 2019 servers running as DCs right now. My plan was to move all the addresses to one 2012 server, then break the failover cluster. Then shut down the 2012 server, re IP the 2019 server, wait for DNS to propagate the change. Then I would join the 2019 server to failover cluster, move all the addresses to the 2019 server and do all that again to replace the other. Does this sound like a good plan or is there a better way?
