my DNS is failing to resolve IPs but can resolve domain Names

Question

Everytime i try to access a shared folder via IP eg \10.1.2.1 \file i get a trust relationship error but if i use the server name am able to access my files eg \fileserver\file. My DNS is not showing an error&nbsp; the only error on my AD is just DFS on event viewer.how do you resolve such.

Sounds like NTLM blocked.

Yes, most likely the default since it's considered a security risk.
