Dear all,
having some issues restoring my Windows Server 2012 R2 from a Windows image backup.
I have daily backups, but when I try to restore the latest image I get:
Bare metal recovery Windows Server 2012 R2: The processor architecture or OS version of Windows Recovery Environment is not the same as that of the computer that was backed up
It is definitely the same hardware.
Originally I used the original installation DVD for the recovery.
After I got the above message I thought that wbadmin might have been updated.
So I installed a fresh copy and installed all updates.
But when I then try a system state recovery from Windows server backup I get the same error message.
Looking at the backup I have the feeling that all required data is there.
I could also restore the C: drive and AD and FRS to a different drive:
PS C:\Users\Administrator> wbadmin get items -backuptarget:R: -version:06/02/2023-03:00

Any idea how to restore the data?
It was my only domain controller.
And yes, I know. One should have two of them and I was looking for additional hardware when my server crashed.
It was also running Exchange 2012 in a 2015 Hyper-V VM
Thanks and Regards,
Andreas
