Are there any differences for the smb over quic between the Windows server 2022 Azure Data center vs 2025 servers? Any improvements from the prior version?

WS2022 Azure Edition got the client access control update just like WS2025, as part of the March cumulative update (as did Win11 for the client pieces). We wanted to make sure Azure Edition got capabilities early before the next major OS release.

What about Dynamic Access Control (DAC) and SMB over Quick for Azure Files (Storage Account)?

Hi. I don't have insights into Azure Files' future story on DAC, you'll have to talk to them. As far as their support for QUIC, they are very interested in doing it but don't have a timeline to share yet.

Thank you. Who has the insights into the future history of Azure Files on DAC that I can ask? Can you help me?

With Quic SMB share connection from the "coffeeshop" , how does this connect through firewall ? or does this use reverse proxy or something ?

Firewall has to allow (by default) inbound 443 UDP to the file server.

yes that is the firewall for the server itself, but if this server is in my private datacenter, how does this connect with the outside world without a VPN on the client. I would need some external FQDN or IP adres and port mapping in edge firewall ?

Same number for password attempts per second 2 seconds vs. 10 seconds?

Can you rephrase the question, I don't understand it.

You run that powershell script one time with 2 seconds blocking, one time with 10 seconds. But the attempts number at the result was both the same 😉
