When Windows 10, version 21H2 is released later this year, there will be no updates to the Windows Hardware Compatibility Program (WHCP). The program will utilize the same guidelines as Windows 10, version 2004, which include the following activities:

  • WHCP requirements – No change. Windows 10, version 2004 requirements remain applicable for Windows 10, version 21H2.

  • Errata – No change. All Windows 10, version 2004 waivers will continue to be valid for Windows 10, versions 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2.
  • Windows HLK playlist – No change. The Windows HLK for Windows 10, version 2004 playlist can be used for Windows 10, versions 2004, 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2.

When checking as to whether my 2016 Dell XPS15 (upgraded to 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD) is OK for W11, I am getting confused reports from MS checks.

Running PC Health Check app shows my processor is incompatible. It is an Intel i7-7700HQ running at 2.80GHz.

Yet MS's Windows 10 21H1 Supported intel processors page lists this as one that is supported.

I am running W10 Pro, 21H1, installed on 17/08/2929, OS build 19043.1237, with Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0.

So, is my computer OK for W11 or  not?

Everything else seems O.K. in the requirement list *except* the processor  :(
