Upgrade Server 2016 to Server 2022
Please, can anyone help?
I have an installation of Server 2016 (Standard), and the Microsoft Upgrade path shows that it is possible to upgrade to Server 2022. I have purchased the full Server 2022 Standard DVD, but the installation 'Choose What To Keep' option for "Keep files, settings and apps" is greyed out with the only option being "Nothing" for the installation.
I do not want to have to re-do all the configuration of files, permissions, applications SQL etc. that has happened over the past 8 years for this company!! Is there any way to activate the option to 'Keep files, settings and apps'?
Thank you for any help that you can give,
Allen Cherry

- BeekeiCopper Contributor1. update the base operating system with the latest available patches before upgrading to the target operating system. (Updates available from Windows Update).
2. all hardware peripherals such as storage controllers and network cards should be updated with the latest firmware and drivers before starting the upgrade.
3. make sure that the running applications are supported on the targeted (updated/new) OS version.
4. changing the language is not allowed while performing the upgrade.
