Microsoft Viva Sales is reimagining sales. By bringing customer relationship management (CRM) data and artificial intelligence (AI) seamlessly into every salesperson’s flow of work in Microsoft 365 and Teams, Viva Sales helps sellers focus time on what matters most: making meaningful connections, building trust, and moving deals forward.
This month, we’re thrilled to bring one of our biggest updates ever, with a suite of new features and improvements that together make Viva Sales even more helpful from the get-go and attuned to the needs of sellers and organizations every day.

Comprehensive support for all CRM record types in Viva Sales

Most sales organizations use a variety of CRM record types, both out-of-the-box (OOB) and custom, to model their unique business processes and tailor the CRM to their needs. Now in Viva Sales, we’re offering comprehensive support for all record types, enabling organizations to configure the full breadth of information their sellers require for success. With the ability to configure all OOB records, as well as custom records, admins can effortlessly add or remove record types and customize how they show up across Outlook and Teams, extending the support beyond contacts, opportunities, and accounts. Moreover, with any record type that’s been added to Viva Sales, sellers now have the ability to search for them by name along with any key fields. Sellers using Dynamics 365 can connect their emails and meetings to any record type that is enabled for activities and added to Viva Sales. Sellers using Salesforce can connect to all OOB record types added to Viva Sales that are enabled for activities.

Enhanced Outlook experience for greater productivity

We’ve revamped the Viva Sales in Outlook experience, making it more intuitive and easier than ever to explore and make use of everything that Viva Sales has to offer. Along with various styling and navigation improvements, the new contextual header ensures you’re always oriented and informed about the reference record at a glance, wherever you are. Additionally, the action card intelligently presents key actions for you to quickly take, such as suggested updates to the CRM. Opportunity and Account records get a details page to allow users to dive deeper into the information contained within. Together, these enhancements empower sellers to focus and excel in their work while staying in the flow.

Improvements to Copilot in Viva Sales

With Copilot in Viva Sales, sellers can harness the power of generative AI to build stronger customer relationships and be more productive in the flow of work.
This month’s release brings some improvements to our Copilot capabilities. In addition to numerous under-the-hood updates to improve the quality of suggested email content, we’ve enriched our opportunity summaries feature to help sellers reclaim even more of their time and serve their customers even better:

AI-powered opportunity summaries improvements with Copilot

Preparing for customer meetings is often a daunting task, requiring sellers to go to lengths to gather and synthesize information to become more informed about the customer and their needs. Last month, we released opportunity summaries, which generates concise customer summaries so that sellers can quickly ramp up and ensure that they’re prepared for every meeting. Now, these opportunity summaries have been enhanced to include more essential details, including a generated email summary.
