Re: Labs Backup and restore (whole lab)
Hi NeoIT21 - unfortunately this isn't a feature of Azure Lab Services, there isn't a way to fully backup & restore a lab. You can, however, export the template to an Azure Compute Gallery as a way to save it. Then you're able to create any new labs based on this image. You can find more information here: Use an Azure compute gallery in Azure Lab Services - Azure Lab Services | Microsoft Learn Thanks, Peter Hauge [MSFT]575Views0likes0CommentsRe: VM stuck in starting state
Hichipzx - the best next step is to open a support ticket to get the product team engagement ASAP. When you open the support ticket, please include the lab resource ID & VM information (screenshots are a great addition too) so the team can investigate & fix. In terms of enabling customers to resolve this on their own - I know the team is investigating options on this front but there haven't been any new features delivered yet for this. Hi Nick - are you still seeing this issue? If you're using Lab Accounts - we had a service issue that would cause this behavior (VMs stuck at "Creating") that's since been fixed. The fix for this (only works for labs using Lab Accounts) is to scale the lab up by 1 and then scale it back down by 1. If this doesn't work for you (or if you're using Lab Plans), could you open a support ticket? Either that, or you can send me a direct message - please include the Resource Id of your lab and whether you're using Lab Accounts or Lab Plans. Thanks! ~Pete Hauge [ MSFT ]2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: lab service add VM disk
Hi - unfortunately this isn't a supported feature for Lab Services today, users cannot add additional disks (or a bigger OS disk) to Lab Virtual Machines. There is a supported method of adding additional space to the lab, you can use external storage. Details are here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/lab-services/how-to-attach-external-storage . HI - I just realized I missed this thread! Yes, there was a partial outage for Lab Services Preview (Lab Plans). This has been fully resolved over this past weekend. If you are still seeing any issues with long running operations (VMs stuck starting/stopping, creating labs, publishing labs), please open a support ticket so we can get the team engaged ASAP to unblock you. Hi - thanks for reaching out! We had a partial outage with Lab Services Preview (Lab Plans). This was fully resolved over this past weekend, so as of now you shouldn't see any issues. If you still have a problem starting the template virtual machine or student virtual machines, please open a support ticket for the team to assist. Thanks! ~Pete [MSFT]807Views0likes0CommentsRe: Azure lab machines stuck in "creating"
Hi - I'm sorry to hear these are stuck in the creating state! Creating VMs should only take around ~20 min if you're using a marketplace image and sometimes a bit longer (but not overnight) if replication is needed for an Azure Compute Gallery image... Please open a support ticket for the team to address, or you can send me a message directly with more details (subscription ID, resource group name, lab account name & lab name) and I can follow up. Thanks! - Peter Hauge [MSFT]1.7KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Networking multiple labs
Hi 7inux - is it OK if you refer to the VMs in the other lab by IP address? You can use Networking Peering with Azure Lab Services (more info here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/lab-services/how-to-connect-peer-virtual-network ). This would enable you to create two labs with network connectivity between them, but you would need to refer to the VMs by IP address in this setup. Let me know if that's sufficient! ~Peter Hauge [MSFT]908Views0likes0CommentsRe: Unable to Access Lab account under labs.azure.com
Hi - I'm sorry to hear you're having issues accessing your labs & lab accounts! The best thing to get this resolved as soon as possible is to open a support ticket to get in touch with the team for direct support. Hi Pradeep Kandel - unfortunately we can't help in this area. The best next step would be to follow up here: https://azureforeducation.microsoft.com/en-us/institutions/Contact . Thanks! Pete Hauge [MSFT]7.1KViews0likes1Comment
