Re: How to hide the First Run Experience in the new Microsoft Edge?
rishavsharan I'm running stable build 80 and when I do the HideFirstRun it doesn't apply any of the other settings. So there isn't any SSO, no sync, first tab experience isn't O365 because the user isn't signed in. If I allow the First Run to happen all of the above happens. My test machine is using Conditional MFA with trusted IP, Seamless SSO and is Hybrid Azure Joined. Anyone else having issues with SSO and Edge when hiding the first run?10KViews0likes1CommentRe: Enterprise Favorites - GPO settings missing
Ozboz For Enterprise favorites, in my limited experience thus far, there are two options that work well. There is a setting in the GPO for "Configure favorites" and it takes JSON coded bookmarks just like the Chrome GPO does. This creates a persistent set of bookmarks that will follow the user regardless of what bookmarks they create on their own. Also the bookmarks file you alluded to, I have a GPO that pushes that file down to the user in my Citrix environment. This allows me to keep the bookmarks consistent in that environment. I plan to use the configure favorites GPO setting to push the persistent bookmarks to the end users after the GA version drops.2.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Group policy to disable the "Welcome to the new Microsoft Edge" dialog from FirstRun wizard
csrswalch also looking for this. I'm testing in a Citrix environment. I had to add an inclusion in Citrix for the EdgeBeta user directory so it would save the first run having been applied already. So any subsequent launches do not show it even after logging off and back on again. I do wish I could prevent it for brand new users as well though. So far nothing I've found or tried has been able to disable it.102KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Internet Explorer Mode Flip-Flops Between On and Off
AndrewSAIF I struggled with the flip flop for days. I would go to the page and it was in an Edge tab. If I hit refresh the IE icon would appear. Browsing the site would be hit or miss with a refresh correcting it. I never would have thought to do the IE setting in the GPO to resolve this. The issue is resolved now and I'm pushing forward with my testing. This would allow us to dump IE11 as our native browser and only use it for the 3 websites we use that still require Silverlight and ActiveX. Thanks for posting this.5.1KViews2likes0Comments
