Selecting and copying text in touchscreens
I'm trying to select and copy text with my touchscreen enabled laptop and surface go 2 but I can't find a way to do it. Yeah well all that initial propaganda of being a lightweight chromium-based browser was just the strategy to get us engaged with the development. Now, as you mentioned we are stuck with a ad-based browser with 50% of features nobody uses and are just there to sell us unnecessary stuff. Once, I heard a story from someone involved with software development. He stated that marking some progress inside big tech companies is really painful because of the many bureaucracy walls after every single step. I think this is what is happening here, this team of developers does not have the freedom to go ahead and do whatever they think is best for the company, but instead need to wait for the Microsoft umbrella for approval and consent. Don't forget that initially they promised history sync to be available when the browser officially launched, which resulted to be false; then they promised to release it at the beginning of the year, again untrue (at this time they said that History Sync was not "enough important for the community"). Finally, they lied to us again with this summer scam. I get your point, the thing is that edge development really feels like a mess from my perspective. For example, the integration with other platforms is incoherent, not only is the lack of syncing and PDF content navigation but features that still exists in iOS but have been deprecated in Windows like Reading List, or the possibility to send tabs from iOS to Windows (still buggy) but not in the opposite direction. All these are features already available with other browsers, and most of them have much less visibility than the Microsoft browser. Also, there is a big bug in iOS where the request for location persist enabled even when you close the tab that was requesting the location in first place. All these bugs are frustrating because I really like the browser cleanliness and overall design, but are not in line with Microsoft reputation.6.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Top Feedback Summary for August 5
apparently the microsoft team dedicated to Edge development has only a few members, it's really annoying. They have been delaying features for months, I think they should not have been released the browser in first place with such a lacking and incomplete user experience. Yes they are blocked since the edge ad blocker is activated, but the website address is still AMP generated by google for most searches through Google search provider. Also, since google injects those blocked ads, the blank spaces remain in the browser, which is upsetting. The fix would be just show search results without google AMP technology, which Firefox and I think Brave, do effectively.2.6KViews1like0Comments
