Re: Dev channel update to 86.0.622.3 is live
josh_bodner Ah I might have phrased that badly, I meant that when switching between 2 top-most apps, as long as neither of them is Edge, the issue just never happens, even if I'm switching between them rapidly (I bind a touchpad gesture to Alt-Tab, that's how I'm doing it so quickly). However, when Edge is used (either the 1st or 2nd app), the issue start to occur. Apologies if there were confusions.12KViews0likes1CommentRe: Dev channel update to 86.0.622.3 is live
josh_bodner Right, that's the perfect description. I'm on Windows version 20H2 build 19042.508. I got it to happen on Beta and Stable as well, only recently though, I think it started happening when the update that shows Edge tabs in the Alt-Tab menu came. It seems to happen only if Edge is the first or second app interestingly, if it's the 3rd or further and not selected, the issue just never occurs. So in short, it only happens when Edge is running and is the 'front' app. Occurs on Dev, Beta and Stable, currently on Windows version 20H2 build 19042.508.12KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 87.0.634.0 is live
josh_bodner Following up on our discussion here with the additional details you inquired on. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/dev-channel-update-to-86-0-622-3-is-live/m-p/1649409/highlight/true#M34977 I noticed a strange behaviour when using Alt-Tab with Edge open in recent builds. With Edge open, the current app sometimes doesn't appear as the 'first' app when invoking the Alt-Tab menu, this behaviour only occurs when Edge is open/running interestingly. To reproduce the Alt+Tab behaviour, I: 1. Hold down Alt 2. Press and release Tab 3. Release Alt Repeat these 3 steps relatively quickly and the behaviour occurs when Edge is open. I've reproduced this using the on-screen keyboard so that it's more obvious what I'm pressing: https://imgur.com/a/FIjo0ps, copy included below as well.14KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 86.0.622.3 is live
josh_bodner Of course! I was: 1. Hold down Alt 2. Press and release Tab 3. Release Alt Repeat these 3 steps relatively quickly and the behaviour occurs when Edge is open. josh_bodner Love the recent builds. That said, I noticed a strange behaviour when using Alt-Tab with Edge open in recent builds. With Edge open, the current app sometimes doesn't appear as the 'first' app when invoking the Alt-Tab menu, this behaviour only occurs when Edge is open/running interestingly. Video of the behaviour (copy included below as well): https://imgur.com/a/jE0Ym4o. I am pressing Alt+Tab then letting both keys go after each time. Not sure if this is a bug or changed behaviour.12KViews0likes7CommentsRe: Top Feedback Summary for April 7
MissyQ A follow-up to the previous issue I've reported, (https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/top-feedback-summary-for-march-31/m-p/1278898/highlight/true#M27855) it's partially fixed as mentioned but there is a new issue. The on start-up "continue where you left off" (edge://settings/onStartup) setting conflicts with opening 2 or more sites installed as apps (PWAs). Reproduce: 1. Open 2 "sites installed as app" (Discord and YouTube in my case) along with Edge 2. Open a few tabs in Edge (any websites) 3. Close Edge first without closing the individual tabs or any of the 2 PWAs 5. Reopen Edge Issue: You'll find that all the previously open tabs are all lost, not at all what I was expecting. I've sent in some feedback along with browser data using the in-built tool, hopefully the team could get fix this issue completely. Many thanks for the communication, it's much appreciated.9.5KViews0likes9CommentsRe: Autoplay Block Not Working
Same problem here. I've never found a site where the setting works consistently (or at all tbh). I much prefer the Sound permission in Google Chrome, basically blocks all sounds so autoplay becomes a non-issue. You can whitelist which site you want to have audio manually there.7.9KViews1like0CommentsRe: Top Feedback Summary for March 31
MissyQ The latest Edge Beta build I received yesterday seemed to have fixed it (81.0.416.45). That said the update process did unexpectedly cause my pc to freeze up, nothing would respond, Ctrl+Alt+Delete wouldn't work either, I had to manually shut down my pc by holding down the power button. I'll submit a feedback to the team for that issue, thanks for the response!4.8KViews1like0CommentsRe: Top Feedback Summary for March 31
MissyQ An issue that's been happening since launch, doesn't affect Google Chrome, just Edge. The on startup "continue where you left off" (edge://settings/onStartup) setting heavily conflicts with sites installed as apps. Reproduce: 1. Open a "site installed as app" along with Edge 2. Open a few tabs in Edge (any websites) 3. Close Edge first without closing the individual tabs 4. Close the "site installed as app" 5. Reopen Edge Issue: You'll find that all the previously open tabs are all lost, not at all what I was expecting. Hopefully the team could address this, the issue makes using "sites installed as apps" very difficult (loss of productivity) for me if I lose my open tabs in Edge every time I close it.5.3KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 82.0.439.1 is live
MissyQ A quite consistent bug I've noticed recently involes the omnibox and using the touch keyboard. 1. Tap the ombibox to invoke the touch keyboard. 2. Press the Ctrl first then try to press C or V to use the Copy/Paste function. It never works if Ctrl is the first button presses after invoking the touch keyboard. This problem seems to be limited to the omnibox alone.6KViews0likes1Comment
