Scroll stops working when using multiple desktops
My laptop has a Precision Touchpad, which is configured to change virtual desktops on a 3 finger swipe. If I start to change desktops, but move back to the original without switching, the two finger scrolling has about a 70% chance to stop working in Edge, so scrolling webpages requires use of the scroll bar or arrow keys. The browser also rejects most touchscreen input in this state. The browser returns to normal operation after about a minute. The computer is running the 20H1 Insider Preview of Windows 10, along with Edge Dev 80.0.355.1. All other applications work fine. Edge does not have to be in focus to be able to reproduce the bug, and the bug affects all open windows of Edge. The only remedies I have found are to wait for the browser to return to normal operation, put the laptop to sleep and wake it back up, or to close Edge from the menu. When running Edge Dev, tooltips will randomly appear. The issue seems to be exacerbated when multiple windows are open. The tooltips will disappear when the window they came from is made active. This issue happens fairly frequently, and seems to happen more on Edge windows that are on other desktops. It doesn't seem to matter if the window is topmost on that desktop or not. I have only noticed this issue, however, when using the precision touchpad on my Dell Inspiron 7573 2-in-1. Using the system with an external mouse seems to mitigate the issue. While the tab bar at the top is the most common cause of tooltips appearing, it also occasionally happens to links on webpages, sometimes on inactive tabs. When the issue occurs on the tab bar, the tab is highlighted as if it was being hovered over.Solved3KViews2likes6Comments
