Bing Button on Mobile?
Where is the Bing button on mobile? Specifically Edge Dev for Android. The blog post implies there should be one... I just got an update to Edge Dev for Android today (to version 112.0.1702.3; first update since Feb 22!) and there is still no Bing button that I can see. The two main ways I can see to get the new Bing on mobile are (1) search for something on Bing, then hit the "Chat" tab or (2) search Bing for "Bing AI" which (sometimes?) pops it up. Is there something more direct?2.3KViews0likes3CommentsInPrivate and Family Groups for Edge
Hi, I'm trying to configure the availability of InPrivate mode for Edge on a per-user basis on a few computers running Windows 10 Pro. Edge is the current Edge Dev build. Sign in to Windows is done via Microsoft account; the kids have accounts that are part of a Microsoft Family Group and the screen time/app controls, etc. all seem to be working fine. The issue is that on one computer the kids' accounts do not have access to InPrivate mode, but on the other computer they do. In both cases the Edge menu states "Managed by your Family Group". I can't figure out what is different between the two computers. I also can't find any docs on how this is supposed to work (e.g., is there some control at family.microsoft.com where I could enable/disable the availability of InPrivate on a per-kid basis?). Any suggestions? I'm assuming the intended behavior is that family organizers can use InPrivate but kids can't, which would be fine for me if it actually worked. I'm also aware that InPrivate mode can be controlled both through Registry settings and through Local Group Policy, but as far as I can tell both of these methods apply to all users on the computer and there is no way to do it on a per-user basis. If there's a way to do either of these per-user that would work too. Thanks for any suggestions!8.2KViews0likes7CommentsEdge support for chrome.gcm API
Some Chrome extensions use Google Cloud Messaging to send/receive messages. It appears that such extensions are not working in Chromium Edge. Are there any plans to support this to expand the set of Chrome extensions that work properly with Edge? For example a developer filed this GitHub issuewhich doesn't seem to be getting any traction (perhaps there is a better place to file it?). This particular use case is a Chrome extension that works with Join, an Android app which facilitates copy/paste (and many other advanced functions) between desktop browser and Android phone. There are surely many other useful Chrome extensions that aren't working because of this limitation.4.1KViews1like6Comments
