Re: Possibility to send email from PDF Toolbar and more settings
I agree. If you open a local pdf file from you computer, the "share" button from the three-dot-menu already sends the file, not the url. So I think even for documents from the web, there should be a separate share button on the pdf toolbar which would allow us to share the file instead of the url.798Views0likes0CommentsRe: Improvements to history in Microsoft Edge
ikjadoon I agree the loading delay is a real shame. I recommend everyone in this thread to have a look at this 10 year old browser extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/recent-history/fbmkfdfomhhlonpbnpiibloacemdhjjm It does basically the same thing as the new Edge history flyout, but it opens instantly while using almost no memory for the caching I assume it does. You can even type to search lol. Of course, the edge flyout can display all history, not just a few recent entries like the extension I compared it to does. But isn't caching the first couple items of an "infinite scrolling" type list a really old trick too? I think the Edge flyout even does that alredy, when you scroll really fast to the bottom you hit a limit and have to wait again for more entries to load. The Edge flyout looks much nicer but if I have to wait like four seconds everytime I want to use it, then I'd rather use the less sleek-looking work of some random extension guy who 10 years ago did what dozens of MS devs apparently struggle with today.5.1KViews1like0CommentsRe: Vertical tabs should be consistent with Fitts' law
I agree, usually I dont have my browser window maxxed but when I do this is really irritating. have you tried sending this as feedback? this forum is really like shouting into the void, I don't think I've seen the devs ever follow up on any posts/bug reports/feature requests here.8.7KViews1like0CommentsRe: Wierd behaviour in the top bar in Microsoft Edge Android
Yeah I've noticed this too. Do you remember how the address bar used to be rectangular? When they turned it round a few months ago, they didn't actually turn it round - they just slapped a round cut-out on top of it so noone would notice, which is where this weird visual artifact comes from. The team was quite literally cutting corners here lol Another issue that can be seen in this video is how in dark mode, the color of the Android status bar doesn't match the color of the Edge top bar - which looks cheap imo, just as the Android navigation bar doesn't match the Edge bottom bar in neither light nor dark mode1.2KViews1like0CommentsRe: The new Edge
tomearlyverizonnet Hi, if you move all these favorites out of the "Other favorites" folder to the "Favorites bar" folder, you can access them with only one click: Hit Ctrl+Shift+O to get to the favorites page. Now click on the "Other favorites" folder on the left. Hit Ctrl+A to select all favorites in that folder, and now drag them into the "Favorites bar" on the left. Hope I could help you!668Views0likes0CommentsRe: Feature request: One-time searches with different search engines
ahnaf_t hi, this feature already exists: go to settings, then "privacy & services", then "address bar", then "manage search engines". maybe Searching should become its own top-level settings category, because this feature is kinda hidden right now and many users will never find it. may you have a nice day1.8KViews1like1CommentBringing back a Splash Screen to Edge
a few weeks ago I upgraded my parents to the new edge. Until then they had been using legacy edge which came with their (not very powerful) laptop. Every time they would open the browser or click on a link (in an e-mail, word doc or similar) they would immediately see the splash screen for 3 to 4 seconds, wait, and then be ready to surf the web. but now when they open edge, they have to wait 3 to 4 seconds without seeing ANY feedback form their machine. This is confusing to them even though they are by no means tech illiterates. Almost every time I see them do this they get impatient/worried that they missed the icon/link, click again, and end up with multiple windows of edge. i propose bringing back a splash screen to microsoft edge, just like the mail app, calculator app, maps app and other most used consumer applications in windows have one. I think it would look quite nice with the new logo, but I have no idea how difficult this is to implement. Thanks a lot!Solved2.7KViews4likes5Comments
