Re: Discussion - Set Aside Tabs and Warn on Close
JSyder I can relate to those use cases too. Right now to set resources aside, maybe I decided to game on the PC I currently open task manager and forcefully close Edgium/Chredge so when I open it again I can restart where I left off.5.5KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Discussion - Set Aside Tabs and Warn on Close
Elliot Kirk, I thought Collections was to replace Set Aside Tabs. It's not as quick to save tabs but it is a better way to organize your tabs that you want to save or reopen quickly. I could see how Collections doesn't fully replace Set Aside Tabs but it could be in some way. Either set the tabs aside and give it a date and time in Collections and people can continue to use Collections as it's intended, organizing information for a trip, project or quick links to certain websites like royalty-free content (which I use to do with Favourite folders). I can see collections to replace Favourites in my use case unless you favourite random websites instead of websites themed, in my case, royalty-free content.5.5KViews2likes13CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 81.0.381.0 is live
Drew1903 Oh true. I should have just said that instead of beating around the bush. I honestly, I think Bing results are better and there are fewer ad results before you get to the real search results compared to Google. Even when I talk about searching something up I am counter-cultural by not saying "I googled ________." Instead, I say, "I searched ________."17KViews2likes2CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 81.0.381.0 is live
It's good to have that but then you will lose the ability to do company searches and awesome Microsoft rewards for gift cards, Surface Pros, HoloLens experiences, WMR, Xbox One X contest, Xbox Gold and more. I say it's worth sticking with Bing, search results are similar to Google anyways. 🙂 jraff17KViews0likes27CommentsRe: Top feedback summary for October 22
Inking is a great start, obviously a very much an early version with what we have now. I hope the eraser button will disappear soon since I hope that it detects me using the Surface Pen's eraser when I flip the pen around. It would also be nice and essentially the team took OneNote inking and features and put those in Edge.6.3KViews2likes0CommentsRe: Top feedback summary for September 17
"Bring the reading list feature from the current version of Microsoft Edge" Yes. This was nice for articles and things. Maybe even allow reading pages to be added to collections too. "The address bar and its text are too big, and should be smaller like Chrome" No! That would make it worse for touch users and may make it harder to read text on larger or smaller screens. I don't know how much smaller you would have to make it anways to gain a significant amount of content on the Webpage. A few 2-40 pixels won't change much. I really hope for "Bring the Ask Cortana feature from the current version of Microsoft Edge" It's much better than Chromiums way of opening a new tab. "Bring the tab set aside feature from the current version of Microsoft Edge" That would be nice. Collections kind of work like this feature but I still think there are some different use cases. Collections is an organized launch of websites and organize favourites in some way and better than using Favourites to save things. Set Aside is content from your last session is saved. I use that currently in the way of opening Task Manager and force closing Edge so the crash feature built into Chromium will ask me if I reopen my last sessions. "Bring the tab preview feature from the current version of Microsoft Edge" This is just nice and convenient. Will this include the option to always show the webpages of tabs open like in EDGEHTML?
