Re: Dev channel update to 84.0.488.1 is live
Big news from this user and perhaps other Star Trek fans. I can now view (with this new Edge release) Star Trek:Picard w/o having to turn off hardware acceleration in settings, which is the default setting if memory serves. Took me awhile to stumble on this "solution" but it seems OK now. Stand down yellow alert and thanks!! No idea if this was "fixed" on the CBS All Access end or not. They are the providers of this program. All other sites worked OK w/acceleration enabled, but not CBS, till now. Surface Go with Win10 fully up to date if that matters. josh_bodner17KViews1like0CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 82.0.425.3 is live
Discovered that turning off hardware acceleration in Settings --> System fixes the no video problem with CBS All Access programs. I'm guessing more than a few readers here are Star Trek fans and they may have had problems viewing the new Picard series on CBS All Access. I stumbled on this solution and wondered if this is something fixable in some future version of Edge.14KViews1like1CommentRe: Bug: Video Playback on CBS AllAccess results in Error Code 2004
JohnBallard I realize this is an old thread but I'm a recent user of Edge Dev and had problems with CBS All Access. I stumbled on turning off hardware acceleration in Settings --> System and that fixed the not seeing the video problem for me. Turned off Ad Blocker for the CBS site too.8.6KViews2likes1CommentRe: Why doesn't outlook.com have a plus sign in the Edge address bar like other Chromium browsers do?
johnjansen Thank you for your quick reply and explanation. I think I'll wait till I see a plus sign before I "install" outlook.com. While PWAs sound interesting, they are, at least at the moment, confusing from a user perspective. For example, Twitter and Google Maps had a plus sign in the address bar and I installed them. I think they are "real" PWAs. I've read that outlook.com in now a PWA, so why doesn't it too have a plus sign in the address bar? I'm using Dev channel Edge. I do see the "install this site as an app" but is that "really" the same as a PWA?966Views0likes2Comments
