HotCakeX In my experience, Google listens to us more than Microsoft. I've said this before lol. We disagree. I've personally never had a feature implemented or a bug fixed by MS. Google doesn't show your full email address. Google is more likely to make the change, even though Microsoft will have the know-how. But the whole point of Edge switching to Chromium was to have a browser that required less development and maintenance. I don't think it'll get any more features even though I wish I could replace some of my extensions with functionality built into Edge. Yeah, it's definitely the win32 Edge (just browsed through it using 7-Zip). What's the point of MSIX if they aren't going to use it. I'm sure it'd run on W10 without modification if they just flicked a switch in their packaging tool or added the desktop device family to the appxmanifest lol. hmmm. It's frustrating that they only have an MSIX for those platforms and not for Windows. What's the point of developing MSIX? None of their own products use MSIX. Those platforms also have win32 emulation (or a shim, as some people have called it?). Perhaps Xbox will be getting win32 emulation? I don't think it'll work on Xbox. It could've been a packaging error. So Windows 10 v20H2's integration with Edge is terribly buggy: The feature shows Edge tabs in alt+tab, not task view. task view is win+tab. Anyway, despite having turned that off in Windows Settings, it still causes Windows Explorer to crash (if you restore a *large* session for example) and sometimes a random Edge tab will pop-up as Windows Explorer. I mentioned the rewritten task view to back my point that MS sucks (to say it succinctly). They abandoned timeline anyway, which was the whole point in rewriting task view. But they didn't revert to the old one after doing that. They tried to patch it up and even added new features to it. The task view that causes Explorer to restart. The task view that doesn't handle many windows well. Not even the window placement is very nice. I've experienced instabilities, performance issues and visual glitches with it across multiple devices and find it interesting that you two don't have such issues. Submitting feedback to both edge and windows is a waste of time in retrospect. It's screaming into the void. But there are three FBH issues linked in that GitHub issue. Not a single one was even looked at by MS, then or now. They only look at and fix issues when they hit that repository. Proof that the FBH is a literal void. I've discussed a few bugs and feature requests on this forum and I always get my hopes up when an MS employee replies in agreement. They either go unfixed/added or get fixed/added by Google upstream. bruh. themes? you realise Edge is just Chromium, right? I could go on all day trying to explain that MS is just as bad as Google in terms of listening to us (dare I say even privacy/ToS wise!). I could show you very real, easy to reproduce bugs in all sorts of MS software like Windows. I could show you all sorts of missing features across MS stuff. Some stuff is because they have their head in the sand (MSIX, WinUI, UWP...) but it's very difficult to convince you because you believe them. watch Explorer crash and say "it's the future".2.5KViews1like21Comments
