immutable Backup to Url in sqlserver
We use backup to Url method to backup sqlserver databases. I am exploring to make azure storage container immutable by setting up 'Time-based retention policy scope'. When I tried to backup, I got the error 'Some workloads, such as SQL Backup to URL, create a blob and then add to it. If a container has an active time-based retention policy or legal hold in place, this pattern will not succeed.' I was able to overcome this by enabling versioning in the storage account. I was able to backup and also able to restore the backup. Each back up create a 0 size file, then it creates a backup with actual size. Anyone see any issue with this?926Views1like1Comment
