How and why do you use Stream Playlists?
Hello everyone! The Stream team is working to understand different scenarios in which playlists are used for and we would love to hear your feedback so that how we can make it more intuitive and easier to use playlists in these scenarios. If you or anyone you know might use Stream playlists, please request them to submit interest here: https://microsoft.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3VRbNE3td2VlsHk. Thanks!400Views0likes0CommentsRe: New Stream Web Part - Source > Folder > From Sites > Only shows recent shared libraries
Thanks for your feedback here! We do understand the need for metadata filtering in the web part. However, this functionality is present in Highlighted content, and we recommend you use the same, given that inline playback for HC web part is going live soon. The new Stream web part is designed for scenarios where videos are present in folder structure (which is most likely to occur after migration if not yet) and hence, we're not planning to build another Highlighted content web part in the new Stream web part. Feedback noted about the ability to select multiple sites 🙂428Views0likes0CommentsRe: Videos links in Quick Links -- viewer gets stuck in Stream
We do understand the need of embedding a video on a SharePoint Page which starts a certain time stamp. This was one of the relevant scenarios in Stream Classic web part. However, this functionality doesn't exist in the new Stream ecosystem. Currently this has been deprioritized owing to other important features. However, if you are using chapters, you can embed a particular chapter in the File and Media web part using the chapter copy link. This ensures that the video starts at the particular chapter. I hope this helps your use case. Thanks for highlighting the issue with Quick Links web part, we will investigate this on our end.492Views1like0CommentsRe: Add to Playlist from Sharepoint / Teams site?
We have already added support for all Lists from SP sites as well. The list of SharePoint sites can be seen under quick access, and you can also view 'more sites' that takes user to all the sites. Can you share a recent screenshot of what's failing at your end (error message) to help me understand more on this?973Views0likes6CommentsRe: New Stream Web Part - Source > Folder > From Sites > Only shows recent shared libraries
We do understand that picking up the right set of videos is getting painful, especially when the picker is not functioning the way it should have been. Thanks for highlighting these as this helps me note down the gaps and prioritize them accordingly. We are currently investigating as to why is the picker not showing all the sites and just limiting to 12 recent ones. Additionally, the folder picker is designed in a way to show folders only, we are also starting to explore different ways for showing information on folder content inside the picker for user awareness.2.8KViews0likes3CommentsRe: New Stream Webpart - Disappointing
Playlists is built out of MS List infrastructure, and I can imagine that interoperability between these two apps would be painful. We do have plans to expose the front-end experience for playlists in Stream, while it leverages Lists as backend. However, currently the team is focused to make the playlist creation and sharing easier and then take up the UI update with additional video specific layouts to make it more intuitive for Stream users. Thanks for sharing your feedback here.3.3KViews0likes2CommentsRe: New Stream Webpart - Disappointing
It is disappointing to hear that the web part lacks expected functionalities for videos. The new Stream web part was born out of the idea of having a dedicated video web part more suited to video experiences and layouts which was not achievable with other web parts like Highlighted content or Hero or File and Media. So, our first goal was to introduce a web part that is optimized for video and then incrementally add functionalities to it. While we are currently in between our planning process for the next iteration, I'm going to incorporate all this feedback into deciding the order of what comes next. So, thanks for highlighting them. Meanwhile, I would recommend that if your use case aligns with filtering some videos, you should use Highlighted content web part which will soon be supported with inline playback in filmstrip and carousel layouts. However, if your use case aligns with publishing all videos from a particular folder, you can use the new Stream web part.3.3KViews0likes9Comments
