Re: Microsoft Edge (Immersive reader- Read Aloud) not there
There is nothing to be confused about, the developers of edge wanted to disadvantage visually impaired users, presumably for fun. Whoever is in charge of Edge since v90 or so takes sadistic pleasure in doing things like removing or crippling features, adding nag screens and useless misfeafures that nobody would ever ask for, force-feeding Microsoft products and services and resetting, ignoring or removing user preferences, and wasting screen real-estate, compute resources and user's time. Edge is now just as much of a virtual torture chamber as Internet Explorer was at it's worst, the only difference is that it doesn't collect browser toolbars like Pokémon. Forget it and download a different browser just like you always have. Microsoft doesn't have a clue how to treat users with respect and they never will.3.9KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Microsoft Edge (Immersive reader- Read Aloud) not there
No, it was working and then they removed it. They didn't just decide to ignore people who have reading difficulties, they spat in their face by crippling a feature that was working perfectly. Microsoft just hates disabled people. It's evident throughout their own OS, and now they're ruining other OSes out of spite.4.9KViews0likes5CommentsRe: Why edge linux version missing read aloud?
Burglar_CatThe problem is that Microsoft is a very dishonest and duplicitous company. Despite the fact that they appear to be supportive towards Linux, they are in fact deathly afraid of open source software at some level. So the idea that they would release a web browser on Linux and then needlessly cripple a working feature months later without explanation only seems puzzling if you take Microsoft's "love" of Linux at face value. Microsoft once loved Unix so much that they had their own Unix, and then they loved OS/2 and it was the future, until it wasn't, then they loved Java, then they loved mobile devices and metro design, and now they love Linux. It's a very strange kind of love where you intentionally make the experience worse for no reason than spite that you didn't pay someone, anyone for your OS - it's still available in the Mac OS version of Edge. In my country we have a word for people like that - we call them "cunts". Microsoft Edge is still the best browser on Linux in terms of performance, features and power consumption, it's just sad that they are still the petty, vindictive, jealous retaliatory company that they have always been. Satya Nadella is not a strong enough manager to banish Bill Gates influence from Microsoft's sick culture, they need a CEO with morals and balls, something Microsoft has never had.5.6KViews0likes1Comment
