System Center team at Microsoft are glad to announce the general availability of Update rollup 4 for System Center 2019. Customers upgrading to UR4 for System Center 2019 will benefit with added supportability of latest Windows OS, .Net framework, bug & security fixes, and UI improvements. UR4 is available for Data Protection Manager (DPM), Operations Manager (SCOM), Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) and Service Manager (SM) modules.

 

As part of our commitment to help System Center customers better manage and modernize their data center environments, we have been releasing update rollups frequently and we will continue to do so in the future.

 

Operations Manager (SCOM)

Feature Improvements

  • Support for monitoring Windows 11 in SCOM 2019
  • Enabled .Net 4.8 support for SCOM 2019
  • UI improvements in Operations Console:
    • Support for sort option by column, in Overrides Summary.
    • Label text is selectable in the workflow Properties window
    • In the State Views new columns/fields have been added for “class Name” and “MonitoringObjectID (ID/GUID)” for the instance
    • In the Performance View new columns have been added for “Rule Display Name” and “Target Class Display Name”
    • In the Group view new columns have been added for “Management Pack”, “Sealed” and “Members”.
    • In the Create group wizard new columns have been added for “Class Display Name” and “Management Pack Display Name”

Update Rollup 4 for System Center 2019 Operations Manager

 

Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)

Feature Improvements

  • Added support to manage Windows Server 2022 guest virtual machines.
  • Smart card support has been added to enhanced session Mode in SCVMM Console
  • Added support to manage Windows 11 guest virtual machines.

Key Bug fixes

  • Agent Version in the VMM Server view displays incorrect value in a Highly Available VMM environment.
  • Console crashes when one of the network adapters has missing uplink port profile configurations.
  • Server in maintenance mode stays online and NOT paused in the cluster console.
  • Remediating a cluster fails with an error, “No suitable host is available for migrating the existing highly available virtual machines”.

Data Protection Manager (SCDPM)

Feature Improvements

  • Removed file catalog dependency for online backup of file/folder workloads
  • Added private endpoint support
  • Improved reliability while restoring to original location when DPM agent is uninstalled
  • Provided easy upgrade path from DPM 2019 UR3 to DPM 2019 UR4

Key bug fixes

  • Improved Backup performance (reduced 40002 errors)
  • Restoring tapes with DPM 2019 UR3 for VMware VMs results in boot failure
  • BMR backup is not handling replica creation correctly, results in running out of disk space
  • DPM 2019 does not detect resilient change tracking (RCT)
  • Online restore fails due to missing data source volume mapping
  • DPM2019 UI crashes when searching files and folders under recovery
  • Unable to deploy or attach agent with Smart Card Authentication
  • Post backup script fails to execute
  • Unable to delete online data sources from either inactive or active protection group (due to malfunction of PIN functionality) while using Central Console

Feature Improvements

  • Improved performance on portal.
  • Console support on Windows 11 OS and .Net4.8

Key Bug fixes

  • User Console is more stable with reduced console crashes.
  • RDP experiences fixed.
