Savision has been a favorite System Center partner of mine for a few years now. Their LiveMaps for Operations Manager are a really useful way to visualize data because it puts the information in a visual business, location, or process context that people can more quickly understand. I was really excited when Dennis Rietvink from Savision contacted me a few months ago and wanted to work on exposing Live Maps functionality in Service Manager. We worked through a couple of different options, but in the end all it required was using a custom console task handler to launch their web console to the right LiveMap depending on the select object or objects related to the selected object. This solution is a great example of why having a
common platform
underlying Operations Manager and Service Manager is so powerful.
This solution is available now as part of the Savision LiveMaps v5 release. There are a bunch of other features for Operations Manager in that release as well. More info at

This is really exciting! Thanks Dennis!
