Hello Customers,

As you might know already, Windows Server 2016 offers Nano Server as a new installation option. Nano Server is an operating system optimized for private clouds and data centers. System Center 2016 Operations Manager supports monitoring various server roles running on Nano Server. Specifically, we support monitoring the base Nano Server operating system and fail-over clusters through updated management packs . We will soon be supporting monitoring of DNS and IIS 10 server roles through management pack updates. Installation of SC 2016 OM agents on target Nano Server machines is also made simple through the support for Discovery Wizard based push installation. In addition, System Center 2016 Operations Manager agents can also forward ACS security events to collectors.

As we progress, we will add support for monitoring more server roles and other workloads. Our overall goal is to make monitoring of Nano Server environments as seamless as possible by providing the same experience that customers have got used to for monitoring with existing System Center Operations Manager installations and Windows operating systems. We encourage you to try out the latest release of System Center 2016 Operations Manager for monitoring Nano Servers and provide us your feedback on our user voice website .
