Meet Victor Addae

This is the next segment of our blog series highlighting Microsoft Student Ambassadors who achieved the Gold milestone, the highest level attainable, and have recently graduated from university. Each blog in the series features a different student and highlights their accomplishments, their experience with the Student Ambassador community, and what they are up to now.

How has being part of the Microsoft Student Ambassadors community helped you connect with other tech enthusiasts and expand your global network?  

Being part of the Microsoft Student Ambassadors community has been one of the most enriching networking experiences of my academic journey. From the moment I joined, I was welcomed into a global ecosystem of passionate future innovators who share a deep interest in solving real-world problems through technology. Collaborating with students across continents has helped me expand my worldview and learn about diverse perspectives, especially in how technology impacts different communities. 

Through events and the global community platforms, I have built meaningful relationships with peers who are driving change in fields like AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and app development. These interactions have allowed us to share knowledge, exchange opportunities, and support each other’s personal growth. 

Locally, I have had the opportunity to connect with enthusiastic learners at my university by hosting events such as “Build with PowerApps,” where we empowered beginners to create apps with no coding required. Being recognized as a Gold Ambassador deepened my responsibility to mentor others and contribute to a culture of collaboration and learning. 

This community has become much more than a network; it’s a family of inspiring individuals who encourage one another to keep growing. The relationships, mentorship, and encouragement I’ve gained will continue to guide me throughout my career in technology. 

What impact did access to Microsoft tools and resources - like Azure credits, Visual Studio Enterprise, and Copilot - have on your journey as an AI-focused tech leader? 

Access to Microsoft tools and resources has had a significant influence on my growth as an AI-focused tech leader. Visual Studio Code, in particular, became my everyday development environment, helping me build and refine personal and academic projects with improved structure, efficiency, and collaboration. Using VS Code with AI extensions like GitHub Copilot introduced me to intelligent code assistance, accelerating my learning process and helping me explore new technologies more confidently. 

Even though I did not fully utilize Azure credits for large deployments, activating Azure within VS Code gave me the opportunity to understand how cloud and AI services integrate seamlessly into modern development workflows. Being exposed to Azure’s capabilities reinforced the importance of scalable cloud infrastructures in powering intelligent applications, and this experience has shaped how I now design and think about software solutions. 

Copilot has also been an invaluable resource for boosting productivity, enabling faster prototyping, and strengthening my coding accuracy. It encouraged me to experiment, debug challenges independently, and approach development with a more innovative mindset. 

These tools did more than support my personal projects; they empowered me to teach confidently and inspire others during workshops and community engagements. By leveraging the Microsoft ecosystem, I was able to connect students to practical and accessible AI technologies, helping build a local community of aspiring developers. This combination of access, learning, and sharing has played a major role in defining my identity as a future AI leader.

In what ways has the Student Ambassadors program strengthened your resume, boosted your confidence, or helped you develop AI-ready skills for your future career? 

The Microsoft Student Ambassadors program has been a defining milestone in my growth as an aspiring AI, cloud, and data professional. Through continuous learning and leadership opportunities, I have gained strong technical and soft skills that set me apart in the job market. Hands-on project experience with Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Power Platform, and AI tools has directly contributed to strengthening my resume with credible, industry-recognized skills. 

Delivering tech workshops and guiding peers allowed me to strengthen my communication, public speaking, and mentorship abilities. Hosting events such as my PowerApps demonstration session helped me step out of my comfort zone, lead initiatives, and influence others positively, boosting my confidence significantly. 

The program also developed my problem-solving mindset by encouraging me to build solutions that have real community impact. Whether contributing to my hospital’s digital transformation project or collaborating on AI experiments, I learned to apply technology responsibly and creatively. 

Recognitions such as becoming a Gold Ambassador validated my dedication and motivated me to keep excelling professionally. Today, I feel well-prepared to pursue a career in technology, supported by the knowledge, experience, and global network gained through this program.
